The event in a few words

Set your sights on Cape Town! ➡️

Pack your bags, we’re taking you to live a waking dream in South Africa to take part in the legendary Two Oceans Marathon ! 🇿🇦 Traditionally held in April, this monument of running enjoys a legendary reputation 🤪. The natural setting is simply breathtaking, wedged between the waves of the ocean on one side and the raw rock of the mountains on the other 🌊.

Born in 1970 with only 26 brave pioneers who paid an entry fee of 50 cents (🍬), it has grown into a huge human tide of 30,000 participants 😯. Back then, Dirkie Steyn even won the race running barefoot, wrapping it up in 3 h 55 min 50 s! To treat your eyes and your legs, the organizers roll out a superb menu with 4 events to suit every craving, cleverly mixing asphalt and wild trails 🌱. If you live for steep paths and unspoiled nature, you can go for the trail formats with the 16 km route to have fun without burning out, or the 24 km option if you feel like taking a shot of pure wilderness deep in the mountains 🔥. If you’re more of a purist for clean, crisp asphalt, the road half-marathon is waiting for you, proudly bearing the title of South Africa’s biggest half-marathon! 🏆 Finally, for the warriors of the pack, it’s the iconic Ultra Marathon of 56 km (yes, that’s more than 42.195 🤓) on the road that opens its arms to you to enter legend 💪. This crazy journey takes you through fishing villages and gorgeous bays like Kalk BayFish Hoek or Noordhoek 🌞. Then comes the highlight of the show: the legendary coastal stretch of Chapman’s Peak, one of the most spectacular seaside roads in the world, before dropping down toward Hout Bay. The local supporters packed along the roadside scream so loud they instantly make you forget the lactic acid 🏅. No matter which distance you choose, the races finish at the University of Cape Town, with a delirious crowd waiting for you 🥳.

After you cross the finish line with your arms raised, no way you’re heading straight to the shower ✋. You can go chill just a stone’s throw away, at the lively V&A Waterfront, to treat yourself to a well-deserved feast facing the fishing boats 🐟. To gently loosen up those legs and flush out the toxins, go take a big breath of sea air on the gorgeous Sea Point Promenade 🔎. At the end of the day, climb to the top of Signal Hill to admire a memorable sunset that sets the whole horizon ablaze, or go stroll through the historic neighborhood of Bo-Kaap, famous for its colorful houses 🪸.

Take on this Capetivating challenge fast! 😵‍💫
