Alpine tracks, valley paths and lakeside trails: Graubünden is made for gravel, with events to join in neighboring areas, from the Bodensee Radmarathon to UCI The Majestics.
Gravel loves white roads, and Graubünden has plenty of them. Between the alpine tracks of Davos, the paths of the Rhine valley and the trails running along the lakes of Engadin, a gravel race in Graubünden always finds an alternative to the road 🚵.
The terrain mixes asphalt, gravel, forest paths and stony tracks, often within a single ride. The Inn, which rises in the Engadin, accompanies riders on almost flat paths, perfect for warming up the legs. The paths of the side valleys, far from the main roads, often offer a precious calm, with only cowbells and the wind in the larches for company. Taking the time to scout the route before setting off remains the best insurance against unpleasant surprises. Higher up, the alpine tracks demand technique and wide tires 🏔️. The season runs from June to October, with cool mornings and bright afternoons. A windbreaker and a water reserve remain essential in your pack.
The canton does not yet have any gravel events on the Finishers calendar, so you need to look to the neighbors. The gravel race calendar offers UCI The Majestics in July in Villars, in the canton of Vaud, and in September the Bodensee Radmarathon in Thal, on the shores of Lake Constance. The gravel races in Switzerland and the cyclosportives in Graubünden complete the program.
Marmots whistle on the ridges to warn their neighbors of the cyclists' arrival, an early warning system worth as much as a radar 🐿️. Graubünden speaks three languages, and each one knows how to say "good luck" in its own way 😄. Everyone will find their race according to their level and their desire for escape, from a ride with friends to a more demanding event. A slice of Nusstorte at the finish, a local specialty, completes the picture 🍰.
A next-gen platform helping sports enthusiasts of all levels discover territories and heritage through races tailored to them.
