Pay your half in Normandy

Normandy is a rich French territory, full of natural treasures and a great deal of historical heritage. Mont Saint Michel is just the tip of the iceberg...

Strongly marked by the period of Viking raids in the 9th century, Normandy, composed of the departments of Calvados, Eure, Manche, Seine-Maritime, and Orne, is filled with references to this period. Rollo is said to have created the Duchy of Normandy. William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy, King of England from 1066 to 1087, is also a notable figure in the history of this historical French region. The main cities of Normandy to discover? We're talking about Caen, Rouen, Cherbourg, Le Havre... Each has its own identity 😍. Le Havre, completely rebuilt after the bombings of World War II, is classified as a Unesco World Heritage Site. Bocages and plains make up the landscape of Normandy, whose highest point (Signal d'Écouves, 413 meters) is located in the Orne, a rather hilly department of Normandy. The region offers a rather flat terrain, which is good for your running times ⏱! There are many forests 🌳 in Normandy, feel free to take deep breaths! The Regional Natural Park of Perche and the Regional Natural Park of the Norman Seine Loops await you. For those who combine culture and running, the D-Day beaches (Omaha Beach, Juno Beach, Sword Beach, Gold Beach, Utah Beach...) are a must-see during a visit to Normandy, as is the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, open to runners and walkers. Nature lovers will not miss the seaside landscapes of Côte d'Albâtre, the sandy beaches of Deauville or Trouville (Côte Fleurie)…

So, ready for a half-marathon in Normandy? If you have a little time left after your visits, sign up for the Run in Mont Saint-Michel by Harmonie Mutuelle, an event race in the incredible setting of the French historic monument, one of the most known in the world. This half-marathon offers its runners a marvelous course, notably with stretches through the sand. The Seine Marathon 76 takes place in Rouen and welcomes a large number of participants every year. Let's say the race is generous, featuring in addition to the half-marathon, a children's race and a 10 km night race! You can book your family and friends' weekend! In Le Havre, the Normandy Half-Marathon is a magnificent opportunity to run between land and sea!
