The event in a few words

In the month of May, do as you please, but don’t forget to pedal 🚴.

When the fair season peeks its head out 👃, hop on your faithful steed and set off to tear down the mythical hillsides of Bordeaux. The tracks and trails through the famous Gironde vineyards will welcome you with open vines and will show you every color (especially red and white 🍷). But hey, even if wine specialties are one of the region’s prides, that’s not why you’re here 🤪. As a high average-level athlete, you know that alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health and should be consumed in moderation 🫡. Your motivation is more about sport, fun and performance, right? 👀 If so, Bordeaux’s natural environment is sure to make your heart skip a beat 💗.

In this Bordeaux edition of the GravelMan Series circuit, you set course for Bordeaux, the Gironde capital, the big cousin of Toulouse 🌸. You know, the place where they have that bad habit of wanting to call everything "chocolatine". Anyway, on your route you’ll cross the Garonne, the Dordogne, and many iconic towns of New Aquitaine 🏙️. The organizers have prepared, as usual, 5 events with mileage and elevation gain for all levels, to be done in gravel or road bike mode: 60 km and 800 mD+120 km and 1,800 mD+200 km and 2,500 mD+350 km and 4,000 mD+ as well as the big star of the weekend, the 600 km and 6,000 mD+ version. If you choose one of the two biggest routes of this edition, we hope you’ve got a bit more than a day set aside ☀️, because it’s not the kind of challenge that ends in a few hours. Here, we count in days 📅. In any case, whatever your choice, you won’t have time to get bored. You won’t be able to fall asleep if you want to finish within the time limits 👀. What’s more, the events take place self-supported: without assistance, it’s possible you’ll know your bike better than your best buddy by the end of the weekend 😬. As for the scenery, the departments of Lot-et-Garonne, Gironde and Dordogne are renowned for their rolling vineyards 🍇 and their lush green fields. Given that the routes are only revealed 10 days before the race 🏃, we can’t promise anything, but maybe if the organizers are feeling playful, the routes will run along the coast? After all, there are only 70 km separating Bordeaux from Arcachon (and its famous oyster-farming basin...).

When the pedal strokes are nothing more than a vague distant memory, take advantage of your trip to New Aquitaine to discover tons of urban wonders 🤩. To the east, retrace your steps (or your wheels 🛞) and take a trip to Bergerac. This town, recognized as a Town of Art and History, is the second most populous in Dordogne, behind Périgueux. The town may ring a bell, notably because of a certain Cyrano 🗡️... For lovers of the sea and the beach, turn around everyone and head to the Atlantic coast. On this side, you’re spoiled for choice among seaside resorts: Lacanau, Andernos, Biscarrosse or Mimizan—choose the name that speaks to you most and book a mobile home for a few days ⛱️. And don’t forget to go see the biggest mound of sand in Europe: the famous Dune du Pilat. Even though it’s just a big pile of sand, our beloved Girondins promote it so much that it must be worth it. Finally, if you simply want to go for a walk in the forest, you’ll have every opportunity to get lost in the Landes, linking Le Barp to Mont-de-Marsan. That gives you quite a playground 🤪. And there’s no shortage of cycle paths if you can’t manage to separate from your training partner (yes, yes, your bike 🚲).

On your marks, get set, pedal! GravelMan Series Bordeaux and chocolatines are waiting for you 🥐.

4 reasons to join this race

New Aquitaine in all its splendor 🤩
New Aquitaine is a region filled with all kinds of wonders ✨. From an environmental point of view, you’ll find the Atlantic Ocean, many lakes, some of the most famous vineyards in the world, large forest areas and vast grassy plains 🌿. There’s something for everyone, and for every palate: canelé, duck breast, chocolatine, oysters— the region’s specialties make us all drool 🤤.
A well-oiled circuit 🫡
GravelMan Series is one of the most famous and most renowned international circuits in the discipline 🌍. No risk of poor organization or bad marking. You’ll benefit from all their expertise and you’ll only have to focus on the race 🎯. In your head, only enjoyment should remain 🧠. Once the race is over, and if you liked the concept, you can already book your next challenge among the many destinations they offer 😉.
Routes galore 🤪
60, 120, 200, 350 or 600 km—no doubt you’ll find the distance that suits you 🚴‍♂️. Just like the distances, the elevation gains are also progressive and perfectly integrated into the route. It might require a bit of training, but we’re sure you’ll conquer the route you choose 💪.
Suspense until the very last day 👀
Even if you already have an idea of how many kilometers you’ll climb and cover, what kinds of surfaces you’ll be riding on and which region you’ll cross, you won’t know the exact route of the race until a few days before it starts 🏁. Since any recon is impossible, GravelMan Series events therefore have that little extra of unpredictability and real-time discovery 😝.
