Watch out—a downpour of records is about to hit the city! 🤯
If you’re looking for a race where your personal best might be shattered, the Mattoni Running festival Ústí nad Labem is your next playground 🤪. Nicknamed the “Ferrari of races” because of its ultra-fast course, this event is a true record-breaking machine 🏎️. Head to the Czech Republic, to Ústí nad Labem, in the north of Bohemia (a historic region of Central Europe 🤓), for a festival that turns this industrial city into a temple of asphalt 👑. No need to climb peaks here—you can enjoy perfect conditions right in the month of September 📆.
The program is as packed as a music festival line-up 🎷. The flagship event is the Half Marathon, a 21.097 km World Athletics-certified course, but the Mattoni Running festival Ústí nad Labem goes bigger with the relay half marathon in relay 🤝, the 10 km, and even a “Family Mile” and a “Bambini Run” so the youngest can make their mark too 💪. On the course, you’ll be struck by the contrast between the steel of industrial structures and the lush greenery of the landscapes of the Highlands of Central Bohemia 🤩. You’ll literally run through the heart of the local chemical plant Spolchemie, a raw immersion that brings a unique energy 🏭. Running between pipes and metal tanks breaks the usual codes of road running 😅. You’ll also cross the Masaryk Bridge for a stunning view of the Elbe 💦, before heading back toward the city center where local fervor will carry you through the final meters 🏁.
After crossing the finish line, why not explore the hidden treasures around Ústí nad Labem? 🗺️ You can go say hello to Střekov Castle, perched on its rock 🪨. If your legs still allow it, a short walk to the Vaňov waterfall will make you forget the smell of asphalt. It’s the perfect opportunity to discover an authentic side of the Czech Republic, far from the beaten track, with an electric atmosphere and pinpoint organization ☝️. Less than an hour’s drive away, you can admire the majesty of Ještěd Mountain or get lost among the rock formations of Bohemian Switzerland National Park 🌄. For history lovers, Karlštejn Castle offers an unforgettable medieval dive ⚔️, while the Velké Březno brewery museum will delight craft beer fans! 🍻 (⚠️ to be enjoyed in moderation)
Usti—everyone to the Mattoni Running Festival! 😜
