Lake Garda is as well-known as white Martini 🍸 in Italy… 🇮🇹 And for good reason ! With its 367 km² and 51 km long, it is the largest in the kingdom of the country of pasta ! 🍝 It’s in Veneto, between Venice and Milan, that this lake stretches, drawing crowds of summer visitors, especially around Peschiera del Garda, at the extreme south of the part our neighbors call Basso Lago . You can see why the urge to swim there is strong 💦, with peaks up to 27°C that delight holidaymakers. It’s in this green and lush landscape, under a blazing sun 🌞 and facing crystal-clear water that you’ll have the chance to perform in October, when it will still be pleasant 😌. The three formats of this final stage of the FollowYourPassion Challenge – a circuit of 4 races – are based in the town of Peschiera del Garda, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site 🌎.
Your wetsuit probably doesn’t have scales 🐠, but you’ll very likely need it when you dive into Lake Garda in early October, for the Peschiera Tri, one of the events that matters on the Italian triathlon calendar 🤌. "Sprint", "Medium" or "Olympic" : each race takes place in the same setting, between lake, mountains ⛰️ and a historic town 😍. Each format offers distances and disciplines suited to all runner profiles. The "Sprint", with 750 m of swimming, 21.3 km cycling and 5 km running is made for rockets 🚀—those who love speed! The "Medium" is already tougher, with 1,900 m of swimming, 85 km of cycling and 20.8 km of running. Finally, you can feel like a Greek athlete as you set off on "The Olympic" 🔥. With this behemoth 🐘, you’ll churn through 1,500 m, ride 43 km and run 9.8 km 🤯.
If you’re still hesitating to embark on this spectacular triathlon, think about what awaits you that autumn weekend 🍂 : a unique sporting experience with an atmosphere that will fill your sails ⛵️, a chilled stay that will have you drifting to the rhythm of the famous dolce vita 😌 and a fascinating immersion in a town with historic heritage that will leave your mouth hanging open 😲. And we’re not even talking about the local gastronomy, which gives pride of place to limone sul Garda (a lemon said to be the locals’ secret to longevity 🍋), Bardolino (the region’s most renowned red wine 🍷), black or white truffles, and of course fish, with the must-try pike in Garda sauce or Garda sardines in saor.
