In April, head to Deltebre, a town located between Barcelona and Valencia, for a triathlon hot 🔥. Attention, culture moment 👆: did you know that Deltebre comes simply from the contraction between "Delta" and "Ebre" ? Yes, it's that simple! 🤗 This piece of Catalonia is none other than the magical place where the Ebro, Spain's longest river, flows into the Mediterranean Sea 🌊. And it's here, in this unique setting of lagoons and rice fields swayed by the whispers of flamingos, that the Tritour Deltebre awaits you to write your sporting legend 🏆.
Each year, over 1,000 triathletes face this event that has made the TriTour Deltebre a true cradle of triathlon in Catalonia 💥. Why? Because this town guarantees a triathlon that rolls out the red carpet for your clock ⏱️: swimming with the Ebro current at your back (thank you for the boost! 🙏), an ultrafast cycling section on straight lines just waiting for you to unleash some power ⚡️ and a flat course offering a dream run 😎. In terms of distances, there is something for every taste and every calf 🦵. For a pure adrenaline shot, you have the Sprint with its 750 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run 🤗. For those addicted to the sport, there is the Half with its 1.9 km swim, 86 km bike, and 20 km run 😮. Between the two, there is the Short 🤏 (950 m swim, 57 km bike, and 10 km run) and Olympic 🏅 (1.5 km swim, 38 km bike, and 10 km run) allowing you to gauge intensity as you see fit. If running is not your thing, you can even complete the Short in Aquabike: you swim, you pedal...and head straight to the final refreshment stop! 😋 The big positive point is that all races can be done in relay 🤝. So whether you're a sprinter, beginner, Ebro-loving swimmer, or a cyclist on record pursuit, Deltebre offers you its scenery for a day of sport, exceeding oneself, and sharing 🌞. Honestly, whatever your level, give it a go! At worst, you'll turn Catalonia into “Cata”, but it will make a great story 😜.
If you love triathlon, you love triple doses of pain...and pleasure! 🙃 We invite you to extend the stay after your race because it's really worth it 🙌. Head to Punta Del Fangar, one of the most beautiful natural spaces in Catalonia 😍, or discover hidden corners of the Ebro aboard a canoe 🛶. Visit the Deltebre market, one of the region's most popular 😍. Tapas, esqueixada, paella, crème catalane...the region will make you fall for it (in every sense of the word 🫄).
Aleshores, a què esperes per registrar-te ? 💃
We'll say it again in French: So, what are you waiting for to sign up? 🫵
Splash 💦 ! You dive into the gentle and welcoming waters of the Ebre for 1.9 km of swimming that will flow like the river's current. Once out of the water at the Del Delta river park, hop, head to the transition area where your bike waits firmly 🚴♂️. There, you're off for 86 km of cycling on the road, with a nice escape to Amposta (where you'll have a checkpoint📍) before returning to Deltebre to get in finish mode. Last transition, you swap your helmet for your sneakers 👟 and set off on 20 km of running along the Ebre, up to the finish line!
Here you are in the Ebre for 950 m of swimming! 🏊 It goes by as quickly as a wave under the delta wind, promised 🙃. Back on land, you hop on your bike 🚴 for 57 km of cycling, with just enough wind to remind you that you are indeed by the Mediterranean 🌊. Then you finish with style by switching to runner mode: 10 km of running along the river, enough to get you to the finish like a pro! 💥
Here we go! You dive in for 1.5 km of swimming, tackling the Ebro. When you come out, there's no time to dawdle, head to the transition area to hop on your bike 🚴♀️. You then tackle 38 km of cycling while enjoying the beauty of the delta. Finally, the final stretch: you leave the bike and start running 👟 for 10 km along the river, with the finish line arch in your sights 🧐.
Plunge 💦 and it's off for 750 m of swimming in the Ebro, perfect for those who don't quite feel like a fish in water 🐟. Back on solid ground, you hop on a bike 🚴 and it's off for 20 km of cycling, swift as lightning ⚡️. You return to the transition area to put on your running shoes and run 5 km along the river, ideal for giving it your all and finishing with a smile 😄.
