The event in a few words

Visiting Italy, but tired of pizzas ๐Ÿ• and spaghetti? Sign up for the Alpe Adria Saisera Winter Trail and discover a completely different gastronomy ๐Ÿ˜‰ !

Apart from the local specialties (the prosciutto ๐Ÿฅ“, the cjarsons, or the gubana ๐Ÿง), the Alpe Adria Saisera Winter Trail will allow you to dive into an adventure as original as it is beautiful ๐Ÿ˜. At the border of northern Italy, hidden between Slovenia and Austria, you will be able to immerse yourself in the intimacy of the Italian mountains ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น to complete several rugged courses. Organized in the midst of the winter season ๐Ÿฅถ, you can even start a snowball fight with other runners if you're not satisfied with your results โ˜ƒ๏ธ.

The first strong point of this trail is its environment. You will wander freely (or almost, be careful not to lose sight of the markers ๐Ÿ˜ฌ) in the forest and the Italian mountains ๐Ÿ”๏ธ. Under a white immaculate veil, you can observe the landscapes and experience the effort from a new angle. Through the different routes, you can learn the names of the mountains and give the impression of mastering Italian: Lussari, Misconca, Valbruna, Valsaisera, and Polveriera will be the key words of your vocabulary ๐Ÿ“š.

Regarding the sports part, the organization is not lacking. From pleasant effort to very physical, you will surely find happiness. If you want to first discover what running in the snow is like, the "Kyle Trail" of 4 km and "Winter Trail" of 6 km will be your best friends. They will allow you to get hands-on experience without embarking on a journey you might regret ๐Ÿ˜ˆ. Little bonus for the "Winter Trail" of 6 km which promises a challenging climb to the Rifugio Grego ๐Ÿ“ˆ. If you want a more challenging experience, head towards the "Saisera Winter" of 10 km. A longer course, where the physical abilities required are a bit higher, but still accessible if you want to gently push your limits ๐Ÿฅต. The last distance is for mountain enthusiasts and daredevils. A 16 km course with 914 mD+ in the snow, which will test your endurance and make you regret not training harder on hill workouts ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. Unfortunately for you, sledding is not allowed on the descents ๐Ÿ›ท.

On the relaxation side, you'll find a variety of activities near the race: beaches ๐Ÿ–๏ธ, lakes, or even wine tastings ๐Ÿท, to be enjoyed in moderation. For the more adventurous, physical activities like climbing ๐Ÿง— or via ferrata are also offered, depending on the weather conditions โ˜€๏ธ. And as with any winter resort, you can also find skiing, snowboarding ๐Ÿ‚, and many more classic winter sports that are just as fun. Not far from the Parco Naturale Regionale delle Prealpi Giulie, you can also go in search of the many endemic species of the region.

So hurry and book your time off and come explore Friuli Venezia Giulia to the rhythm of snowflakes and marmots ๐ŸคŒ.

4 reasons to join this race

A well-organized operation โš™๏ธ
With 5 races during the summer season and 4 winter races โ˜ƒ๏ธ, the association is well-versed in the subject of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the various local trails. The routes have been designed for optimal marking โš ๏ธ and discovery of the natural site. Once convinced by the winter courses, you'll just have to sign up to discover the region under its summer charm ๐Ÿ˜.
A recognized natural environment ๐ŸŒฟ
With routes traced between mountains and regional natural parks ๐Ÿž๏ธ, you can fully enjoy the environment, including a widely developed fauna and flora. With a bit of luck, you might even spot marmots or chamois ๐Ÿ. It all depends on your attention and your mountain instinct ๐Ÿ˜Ž.
A great excuse to travel โœˆ๏ธ
You finally have a good excuse to take time off and plan a vacation ๐Ÿ˜‰. No more procrastinating, the race won't wait for you and neither will your preparation ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ.
Many local specialties ๐Ÿ
Everyone knows Italian pizzas, pasta, and tiramisu, but has your gourmet palate ever had the chance to taste the specialties of northern Italy? ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น A region is discovered not only through sight but also through taste ๐Ÿคค. So once the race is over, put away your sneakers, take out your plate ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ, and rush to test the good local addresses. If you're not sure where to go, you can always ask the local organizers: no doubt they'll be happy to accompany you to their favorite spot ๐Ÿคฉ.
