Visiting Italy, but tired of pizzas ๐ and spaghetti? Sign up for the Alpe Adria Saisera Winter Trail and discover a completely different gastronomy ๐ !
Apart from the local specialties (the prosciutto ๐ฅ, the cjarsons, or the gubana ๐ง), the Alpe Adria Saisera Winter Trail will allow you to dive into an adventure as original as it is beautiful ๐. At the border of northern Italy, hidden between Slovenia and Austria, you will be able to immerse yourself in the intimacy of the Italian mountains ๐ฎ๐น to complete several rugged courses. Organized in the midst of the winter season ๐ฅถ, you can even start a snowball fight with other runners if you're not satisfied with your results โ๏ธ.
The first strong point of this trail is its environment. You will wander freely (or almost, be careful not to lose sight of the markers ๐ฌ) in the forest and the Italian mountains ๐๏ธ. Under a white immaculate veil, you can observe the landscapes and experience the effort from a new angle. Through the different routes, you can learn the names of the mountains and give the impression of mastering Italian: Lussari, Misconca, Valbruna, Valsaisera, and Polveriera will be the key words of your vocabulary ๐.
Regarding the sports part, the organization is not lacking. From pleasant effort to very physical, you will surely find happiness. If you want to first discover what running in the snow is like, the "Kyle Trail" of 4 km and "Winter Trail" of 6 km will be your best friends. They will allow you to get hands-on experience without embarking on a journey you might regret ๐. Little bonus for the "Winter Trail" of 6 km which promises a challenging climb to the Rifugio Grego ๐. If you want a more challenging experience, head towards the "Saisera Winter" of 10 km. A longer course, where the physical abilities required are a bit higher, but still accessible if you want to gently push your limits ๐ฅต. The last distance is for mountain enthusiasts and daredevils. A 16 km course with 914 mD+ in the snow, which will test your endurance and make you regret not training harder on hill workouts ๐ฌ. Unfortunately for you, sledding is not allowed on the descents ๐ท.
On the relaxation side, you'll find a variety of activities near the race: beaches ๐๏ธ, lakes, or even wine tastings ๐ท, to be enjoyed in moderation. For the more adventurous, physical activities like climbing ๐ง or via ferrata are also offered, depending on the weather conditions โ๏ธ. And as with any winter resort, you can also find skiing, snowboarding ๐, and many more classic winter sports that are just as fun. Not far from the Parco Naturale Regionale delle Prealpi Giulie, you can also go in search of the many endemic species of the region.
So hurry and book your time off and come explore Friuli Venezia Giulia to the rhythm of snowflakes and marmots ๐ค.
A trail designed for true mountaineers. Limited to 50 participants maximum, don't wait too long to join the start ๐. You'll wander from peak to peak and take on a unique alpine challenge ๐๏ธ.
The perfect in-between! โ If you want to challenge yourself but you're not sure you want to tackle the 16 km yet, trust us and take on the 10 km course. You'll be amazed ๐ and we assure you that you won't regret your choice.
The race interests you, but you're afraid you'll be left wanting more with the "Kyle Trail"? Then opt for the "Winter Trail" โ๏ธ. The climb to the Rifugio Grego will wear you out and meet your expectations ๐.
If you are looking for an original activity without too much intensity, then the "Kyle Trail" is perfect for you ๐ฅ. You will be able to create your first winter sensations through a flat trail suitable for beginners ๐ช.
