Around Prigl 2026

Looking for a classic run outside Poland with a one-of-a-kind atmosphere? Vokolo Priglu in Brno is one of the most popular autumn races in the Czech Republic. The event’s name refers to the local Brno dialect (hantec), in which the word Prígl simply means the picturesque Brno Reservoir.

Runners take on a 14.1 km distance, which forms an exact, natural loop around the entire body of water. The route is varied and rolling – it leads along both asphalt paths and forest trails, offering incredible views the whole way of the water’s surface and forests shimmering with autumn colors. You can get to Brno easily by car (via the motorway from the border in Gorzyczki in about 2 hours) or by direct train, including from Prague or Krakow 🚗

After picking up your unique medal and catching your breath, Brno and the area around the reservoir offer plenty of great options for weekend relaxation:

Veveří Castle: This monumental castle—one of the oldest and largest in Moravia—rises on a rocky promontory right above the race route. A pedestrian bridge connecting both shores of the reservoir makes for a fantastic walk toward the castle courtyards 🏰.

Relaxing on the shores of the Brno Reservoir: The area around the reservoir is a favorite leisure spot for Brno residents! After the run, you can sit in one of the waterfront cafés, watch the sightseeing boats cruising by, and feel a true vacation vibe 🌊.

Brno’s atmospheric Old Town: Head to the lively center of the Czech Republic’s second-largest city. See the charming vegetable market (Zelný trh), the mysterious chapel underground, and the monumental Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul 🏛️.

Czech classics at the Starobrno Brewery: After burning through your energy over 14 kilometers, it’s time for some traditional Czech recovery. At the Pivovarská Starobrno restaurant, try the legendary beef goulash with fluffy dumplings (guláš s knedlíkem), the iconic fried cheese with tartar sauce (smažený sýr), and of course a mug of fresh local beer brewed on site 🍲.
