For its 8th edition, the Baloise Namur Marathon returns more vibrant than ever to get you running along the Meuse 🏃. We look forward to seeing you in April, in Belgium 🍟, for a must-attend road race to discover the capital of Wallonia! 🇧🇪 An exceptional setting awaits you along the Meuse! 🐟 Whether you start the 10 km, the 21 km, or the 42.195 km, you'll face a demanding course with elevation changes leading you from Jambes to Namur, passing through Profondeville 🧭. A "Materne Kids Run" will also be organized! 🧒
Throughout the meanders of the Meuse and the Sambre, Wallonia will reveal its historical and contemporary monuments of significance 🤩. During your stay, we strongly recommend checking out the citadel! 👀 The walks it offers could really relax you before or after the race! 🍃 Nearby, an extraordinary statue overlooks the city 🙄. Called Searching for Utopia, this golden turtle was crafted by Jan Fabre! 🐢
The Old Namur is also a neighborhood you shouldn't overlook. The streets are completely pedestrian and will lead you to the Saint-Aubin Cathedral! ⛪ Built in the 18th century, it boasts a Gothic, Rococo, and Classical architecture. A true visual delight! 😍 Yes, we can see it coming: Belgium is also known for beer 🍻, and we agree. But even if it's really good, it must be consumed in moderation! Just a reminder that you're there to run! 💨 Special info for lovers 💞: you can take your sweetheart on a barge, moored on the Meuse docks, for a romantic night! ⛴️ Yes, after effort, comes comfort! Why not a little reward like that? 😘
This race will also be an opportunity to achieve two good deeds on the same day! The Namur Marathon is committed to an ecological and sustainable development approach throughout the event ♻ by limiting the use of plastic bottles, ensuring all waste is collected 🚮, but also respecting the path taken and its natural areas 🌳. But that's not all: by getting your race bib, you support the KickCancer association 🎗 which collects funds for the fight against childhood cancer 🧒. €2 are automatically donated, but you can also make an additional donation at the time of payment 🤝.
Your Namur adventure can start as early as the Saturday of the first weekend of April, with the opening of the expo village (Namur Expo). You can collect your race bib there 🎽, but also enjoy the many organized animations 🪅. On Sunday, the alarm will ring early (6 a.m. for the bravest 😉)! ⏰ Don't miss it because this year's event hosts the world record attempt for marathon juggling! 🤹♂️ The organization has foreseen everything to make this competition accessible to everyone, including families 👩👩👦 who want to come run but couldn't find anyone to watch their kids... 👶 Free childcare will be available from 7 a.m. 🧸. In this space, children, aged 3 to 12, will be supervised by the Maison des jeunes et de la Culture de Champion. The number of places is limited, so be sure to indicate this option when registering! 📝
