Bergamo, is unassuming elegance, Lombard sweetness, and the charm of its cobbled streets ๐ฅฐ. But in February, forget the postcard side: Bergamo laces up its sneakers and turns into a playground for the Bergamo21 ! ๐โโ๏ธ Whether you're a sprinter, aspiring marathoner, or simply a fan of beautiful sporty strolls, this race promises you a unique time between effort, discovery, and pleasure ๐. Two distances are available: an explosive 10 km to speed like the wind ๐ or a half-marathon to get caught up in the magic of this surprising city ๐. It is possible to run these two distances "non-competitively."
If youโre looking for a fast and accessible race, the 10 km is for you โก๏ธ. With its smooth track, this is the perfect chance to beat your personal record โฑ๏ธ. But beware, Bergamo won't let you pass without charming you: the Sentierone, its elegant arcades, and animated squares will almost make you forget youโre there to run... ๐
Not a fan of the stopwatch pressure? โฑ๏ธ No problem: the non-timed version is perfect for savoring the moment. Take the time to look up, contemplate the walls of the Cittร Alta and feel the soul of this historic city. Here, every stride is an invitation to discover a little more of this jewel Lombard ๐๏ธ. If you're more into long distances, the Bergamo21 offers you a half-marathon ๐. With a flat and fast course, Bergamo gives you the opportunity to fully express yourself ๐ฅ. But here, thereโs no monotony: every kilometer offers a new perspective ๐๏ธ. Between the breathtaking views of the Cittร Alta, the majestic details of the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore โช๏ธ or the lively squares of the lower city, impossible to get bored. And even if youโre there for performance, get ready to be slowed down... by the beauty of the place ๐คฉ. Bergamo has this little something that will make you hesitate between speeding up to finish fast or slowing down to enjoy a bit more ๐ .
In Bergamo, recovery is an art ๐ผ๏ธ. Once your well-deserved medal is around your neck, dive into local flavors for a moment of pure comfort ๐ฝ๏ธ. Here, you can't leave without tasting the casoncelli alla bergamasca, these typical ravioli ๐ฅ stuffed with meat, cheese, and herbs, served with a butter and sage sauce ๐. Need a sweet pick-me-up? Tempt yourself with the polenta e osei, this dessert in the shape of polenta (but made of sponge cake, cream, and almond paste) that is a true local icon ๐ง. And for cheese lovers ๐ง, you can't miss the specialties of the surrounding valleys: the Taleggio or the Strachitunt, creamy and flavorful cheeses that will make you forget the fatigue ๐ด.
If you still have some energy ๐ฅ, a digestive walk ๐ถ is a must in the cobbled streets of the Cittร Alta, with its UNESCO-classified Venetian walls ๐ and historical monuments like the Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore ๐ตโ๐ซ. For hiking enthusiasts ๐ฅพ, explore the valleys of Bergamasque and be captivated by the nearby Lake Iseo ๐๏ธ.
3, 2, 1... Don't miss the start of the Bergamo21! ๐ฅ
The half-marathon of the Bergamo21 is 21 km of pure magic โจ. With its rolling course and low elevation, it is designed for speed enthusiasts and personal records ๐จ. But be careful, Bergamo is not easily tamed: between the walls of the Cittร Alta, the cobblestone streets, and breathtaking views ๐, you might slow down to admire the scenery ๐.
