The event in a few words

You thought Romania 🇷🇴 was just Dracula and the Carpathians? 🧛‍♂️ Think again!

Bucharest awaits you confidently 🦶 to showcase its most beautiful streets during the Bucharest International Half Marathon. Created on the initiative of Constantina Diță, Olympic marathon champion 🥇(a true legend this time), this event promises an unforgettable experience whether it's your first half-marathon or your 15th. In the month of April, you should make your way to the Romanian capital to participate in this beautiful race 💫. In terms of spring weather, you can expect temperatures around 15/20 °C 🌡️, ideal for racing. Well, a few showers are possible ☔️, but let's not quibble. Be sure to check the weather a few days before, just in case 👀.

Before you hit the Bucharest asphalt, let us introduce the event program 🫡. Accessible to all levels, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned finisher, this race emphasizes inclusion and diversity ✊. Several distances will be offered. The main event is still the half-marathon on a flat and fast course. If you prefer a gentler approach or just want to enjoy yourself, we recommend the 10 km that will take you around the city's most beautiful monuments 🏙️, such as the Triumphal Arch or the Romanian Athenaeum. For the younger crowd or those looking to share a friendly moment with loved ones, a 3.5 km popular race is open from 8 years old (accompaniment required for those under 10). The icing on the cake 🍰: a 10 km wheelchair race is offered for free, because sport is for everyone! No matter the distance chosen, you'll explore a part of the city center and Herăstrău Park 🌲. The more you run, the more you see! 😉

After clocking up the kilometers, you'll deserve some rest 💤. Our advice: take advantage of your stay to discover the richness of Bucharest. Nicknamed the "Little Paris of the East" (no Eiffel Tower, but there's an Triumphal Arch built in 1936 to commemorate Romania's independence), this city will captivate you with its wide boulevards, parks, and cultural vibrancy. You can visit the Palace of Parliament 🏛️, a true architectural colossus of 350,000 m2! Also, take a tour of the historic Lipscani district with its cobbled streets and terraces. Don't forget to stroll around Herăstrău Park 🌳, with its walking trails and lake 🛶 (though it might still be a bit chilly, but it's great for recovery! 🥶). If you're into culture, be sure to visit the Village Museum, an open-air museum showcasing traditional Romanian architecture (spoiler alert, it's absolutely charming 🤩). If you have a few days, keep one for a visit to the castle that inspired Dracula, located near Brasov. Also, make sure to wander around this city, it's Transylvania at its best! We couldn't skip the local gastronomy: sarmale, mămăligă, and mici are waiting for you. Your taste buds will thank you 🫦!

Are you ready to sink your teeth into this race with your sharpened canines? 😏
