The event in a few words

If you want a race that mixes big city vibes with a huge breath of fresh air, the ChangZhou West Taihu Lake Half Marathon ticks all the boxes ✅.

You start in Changzhou, on the shores of West Taihu Lake, with an urban atmosphere that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and sections that make you feel like you’re running somewhere between postcard-perfect scenery and a skyline 🌊.

The course is all about variety: some city stretches for the energy, a public park to breathe, and that little “wow” moment when you hit the bridge/viaduct and the view suddenly opens up 🏙️.

Hesitating between two formats? The 4.5 km is perfect to enjoy yourself without burning out, or to come as a duo/family and share the experience, and the 21.0975 km is the “I’m having a blast and surprising myself” version (a half… but double the sensations) 🏁.

After the finish, here’s my simple, effective local plan: a stroll along West Taihu Lake to unwind, a detour to the China Dinosaur Park if you want an original after, a stop at Tianning Temple to gain a bit of height, and a loop through Hongmei Park to end on a calm note 🍜.

My guide’s tip: save a little energy for sunset by the water—it’s the best “aid station” for your mind, and Changzhou knows exactly how to serve it…
