Get ready to become "crazy for Corfu" (as a certain Frank Michael would say)! 🎤 We hope you've warmed up well 🏋️, because you're about to embark on an extreme adventure! 🗺️ In the heart of the splendid Island of Corfu, in Greece, the trails and small village roads will welcome a squad of trail runners ready to take on the challenge 💪. Whether it's a long trail or a short trail, all distances will be highlighted during this sporting weekend 😎. In early May, you'll be immersed in settings worthy of the Bahamas: paradise beaches 🏖️, turquoise waters 🌊, lush vegetation 🌿, and typical small hamlets! 🏘️
Your event will take place between nature and seaside! 🌞 Four routes will be offered: the "Quick Trail" of 12 km and 350 mD+ for a quick but intense introduction to the beauty of Corfu, the "Olive Tree" of 24 km and 1,200 mD+ for deeper immersion among the century-old olive groves 🌳, the "Rain Trail" of 44 km and 2,200 mD+ for lovers of wild lands pushing their limits, and finally the "CMT Ultra"! 🔥 This behemoth stretches over 103 km and 4,200 mD+ 🤯. Ultra-trail runners looking for a new playground will be delighted! 😅 As the kilometers pass, you'll learn more about the island's lifestyle and admire many of its most famous monuments (even more if you run the 103 km 😂). Don't worry, even if you cross the road, or rather the sand ⌛, of Corfiot beaches, you won’t have to tread them and risk having a grain of sand stuck in your shoe 😬. All routes share a common point: their finish line! 🏁 Whatever distance you choose, you'll certainly cross the finish line right in downtown 🏙️, under the applause of locals who came specifically for the occasion! 🥳 This 12th edition will likely make as many happy as previous editions 😁. Its reputation is such that the elite cream ⭐ sets off on the biggest event of the day: Franco Collet, Ludovic Pommeret, Maude Mathys, Marco Olmo, Giuditta Turini, and Gediminas Grinius have chosen the Corfu Mountain Trail 🏆. The reason? Well, the event is part of the UTMB circuit! 🌍
So for this world-renowned event, why not stay a day or two longer and enjoy this highly sought-after destination? 🤔 Off-season and without tourists 🧳, you can fully appreciate the beauty and authenticity of this little paradise 😇. To rest your legs, strap on your shoes 🥾 and, with walking sticks in hand and a cap on your head 🧢, venture into the old town of Corfu, listed as a World Heritage Site 🏰. You can also escape to Paleokastritsa to discover its paradise beaches and sea caves 🏖️, or dive into history at the Achilleion, the splendid palace of Empress Sissi 🏛️. Whether with family, as a couple, or with friends, there's no shortage of options! 🤗
