Looking for a race where the scenery makes you forget the kilometers? 🌊 Head to Seengen, in the canton of Aargau, for the Hallwilerseelauf. You'll run past the lake, the forest and wonderful Swiss landscapes.

Here, everyone finds their distance: 5 km for a first race, 10 km to keep smiling, or 21.0975 km to take on a real challenge. The half marathon is also available as a duo, as a relay or without timing, depending on your mood of the day. Coming with your crew? Perfect, there's nothing better than sharing the effort. The youngest aren't forgotten with the Famigros race, designed for children and juniors. The whole family can make waves 🌲.

And after the finish, no need to head straight home, since you're already there to discover the region! Here are my tips around Seengen:

Start with Hallwyl Castle, a water castle set on its river. It's a stone's throw from the start and you can soak up the history with relaxed legs 🏰.

Next, head to the shores of Lake Hallwil. You can stroll there or go to Beinwil am See for a walk by the water. Take a little boat trip, and you'll see that here, nobody leads you up the garden path, they really take you on board! ⛵

If you still have some energy, head to Lenzburg and its imposing castle perched on the hill, with a beautiful view over the valley. Steps don't scare you anymore after the race, right?

To finish, treat yourself to a lakeside terrace with a nice drink and a medal around your neck. Now that's a reward to savor 🍻.
