Every year, between the end of March and the beginning of April, the Trail of Josas takes place in Yvelines. The town of Jouy-en-Josas, in Île-de-France 🇫🇷, opens its doors to the Vallée de la Bièvre (⚠️ not to be confused with the "Vallée de la Bière" 👀). Just about twenty km from Paris, you’ll be able to taste a bit of hops nature away from the hustle and bustle of the capital 🍃.
Three distances are offered for this trail: "La Calmette" of 16 km, "La Blum" of 28 km, and "The Oberkampf", of 36 km 📊. Enough to satisfy everyone! With more or less elevation depending on the chosen course, it remains technical with the numerous ups and downs. There will also be a few steps to climb (it’s good for the cardio ❤️). So no taking the elevator ❌, and watch your step because some passages remain acrobatic 🏃🏃♀️. For those less in a hurry, a 16 km Nordic walking route is also available. So, no excuses possible. Since 2026, the organizers have even decided to put children in the spotlight, and 4 races are now dedicated to them 👶. From 1,000 m to 5,000 m and from 7 to 17 years, the organization has broadly swept to get as many young people on the courses as possible. Different starts are given the day before the adult courses 🕰️, so young and old alike can cheer each other on 🗣️. Lace up your shoes and tie your laces tight because it's time to elbow your way and stand out against the other competitors. 🏆
We promised you nature, and you will get it! A very wooded course will take you through the Versailles National Forest 🌳 and through many woods, like the Metz woods (nothing to do with the city 🏙️, but if you’re interested in visiting the Moselle, we offer races there 😉) or the Dead Man's woods (the name is a bit grim, but you’ll see that it's a nice spot 😊).
A watercourse immediately adds charm to a landscape, and that's why by running along the Bièvre river (several times) you'll realize the beauty of the area 🤩. You will also pass by the Geneste pond, but there's no time to cool off there, you have a race to finish 🏁! To finish, you will stroll through the streets of some villages, such as Jouy-en-Josas. And yes, just because we are in Île-de-France doesn’t mean there aren’t beautiful towns to discover.
At the end of your race, a meal will be served to you (included in the registration price ✅) to share a little moment of conviviality 👌. As for the local cuisine, taste the Houdan pâté or the Niflette, a pastry made of puff pastry and pastry cream 🧑🍳. While you're in the area, feel free to take a little trip back in time and visit the Palace of Versailles 🏰 or the National Domain of Saint-Cloud. Even closer to the race site, you can stop by the Jouy Fabric Museum! 😍
So, are you already Jouy-ed at the idea of doing this trail? 🤪
Message from the organizer:
"This is the 16th edition of the Trail of Josas: a wonderful event that crosses part of the Vallée de la Bièvre. The volunteers are fully behind you to help, guide, and encourage you. A giant paella awaits you at the finish, so sign up!"
This route of almost 40 km will have you zigzagging through the Paris suburbs, and you'll discover that it's probably more green than you think 🌳. The low positive elevation (580 mD+ nevertheless) gives you the chance to believe you won't suffer too much, but the long hours of effort 💦 will remind you otherwise. 36 km is quite a distance, so hang in there and don't forget it's all in the mind 🧠.
This 28 km long route will make time pass by at a crazy speed ⌛️. The forest trails you will follow throughout your run will guide you to small spots of wild flora, adorning beautiful summer colors at this time of year ☀️. You will certainly perhaps even want to go for a second loop following 🔄.
Calm down Calm down🤫, there are only 16 km to cover after all. Okay, we admit it's quite a trek, but we are confident and we know you will conquer these rolling trails 🪨. The enthusiasm of the spectators at the finish line will even drive you to achieve a legendary final sprint 💥.
The dream route for our favorite little hikers 🥾. Designed to take as much out of your legs as it delights your eyes, this trail will have you traveling through all the best that the beautiful city of Jouy-en-Josas has to offer ✨. Between the various natural and artificial branches of the Bièvre and its many wooded areas 🪵, you will be continually amazed by the little wonders that await you in the charming town of the Yvelines 🏘️.
