The event in a few words

The Kamogawa Ecomarathon will take you off the beaten path in the month of January ๐Ÿ“†.

Located in Kyoto, in Japan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต, the event offers you 3 races that are accessible to both beginners and experienced runners here for a time trial โฑ๏ธ. The course is flat, easy, and fast ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ. You will run through the Kamogawa River Park and follow its course throughout your run. You can choose between a half marathon, a 10 km, and a parent-child race ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿง’โ€๐Ÿง’, accessible to children under 15. No matter which race you choose, you will start at 11 a.m. sharp ๐Ÿ•š. With races limited to a total of 300 participants, you wonโ€™t have to worry about being overcrowded at the start ๐Ÿ˜Œ.

With several other sporting events organized, particularly in the prefectures of Saitama, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Kumamoto (but mainly in Tokyo ๐ŸŒธ) the Ecomarathon positions itself as an organization environmentally conscious ๐ŸŒณ and committed to various causes ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ. During registration, it is possible to opt for a donation instead of a fee to the associated charity. This year, donations will go to the "Second Harvest Japan" and the "International Refugee Assistance Association" which create programs for welcoming refugees from all over the world ๐ŸŒ.

Kyoto is often perceived as the cultural and spiritual heart of Japan ๐ŸŽ. This former capital is now famous for its numerous Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, traditional gardens, imperial palaces, and well-preserved wooden houses. If you're visiting, you might have the opportunity to attend the famous tea ceremony ๐Ÿต.

If youโ€™re planning a traditional visit, the Fushimi Inari Shrine is a must-see! โ›ฉ๏ธ It is the main shrine of the goddess Inari, the deity of grains, foundries, and commerce, and guardian of homes. A staple of Japan is, without a doubt, the Onsen. These traditional Japanese baths are very popular among locals! ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ

So, are you ready to take on the challenge and be surprised by everything the Kamogawa Ecomarathon has to offer? See you at the start line! ๐Ÿ
