Semi-Marathon de Mâcon
Want to take on a sporting challenge 💪 while discovering a charming city that's dynamic? 🥰 Join the runners of the Mâcon Half Marathon! 🏃♂️ It's in the Saône-et-Loire, just one hour from Lyon and 30 minutes from Villefranche-sur-Saône 🚗, where you'll be ready for the start of this friendly event 👨👩👧👦, which has been attracting more and more enthusiasts for over 40 years! 😎 This FFA-labeled event takes place in the heart of the vine-growing lands! 🍇 But you won't be running through vineyards, here your race companion will be the Saône 🌊. And at this early September time, around the start of the school year 🏫, the sound of gentle waves on the banks will make you feel like you're extending your vacation just for the weekend 🌞. Don't forget to run, though! 😅
For that, 3 events will be available: 5 km, 10 km and Half Marathon, something for everyone! 😁 Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned runner, you'll find a course suitable for your pace! 👟 Even the youngest will be honored 👶. The day before the race, 3 courses will be organized for children aged 6 to 15. They too will have the chance to enjoy, for a few hundred meters, the enthusiasm of this sport 🎊, as well as the idyllic scenery of the Saône shores! 🏞️ All routes will follow the riverbank, so take care if you're not quite a sailor 😂. As a half marathoner, you'll tread through the communes of Mâcon, Sancé, Saint-Martin-Belle-Roche and Saint-Jean-le-Priche... Quite the tour! 😯 Don't worry, the course will be ultra-flat 🛣️, making it the perfect chance to aim for a personal record ⏱️.
There's another record to beat in this edition: the record of funds raised 💰. Indeed, the organizers have big hearts ❤️ and support two local charitable associations 🎗️: Pour Emma, which fights against childhood cancer, and Solid’Air 71, which contributes to the quality of life of patients with respiratory conditions 🫁. So, don't hesitate anymore to get your race number! The event is also intended to be environmentally friendly, so take care not to litter while running, to preserve our little blue planet 🌍.
Speaking of blue color 🟦, the path you'll take during your event is also called the Voie Bleue! 😍 And get this: it stretches over 700 km, connecting Lyon to Luxembourg 🤯. You could take your bike 🚴 during that weekend and explore this cycle path along the water and amidst nature 🌿 (if your legs still permit 😬).
But that's not all! ☝️ If you're more of a "after exertion, comes comfort" 💆♂️ type, we have a few plans for you too! 😄 Less than an hour from Mâcon, you can set off to discover the wonders of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region 🤗. Put on your sneakers to visit Cluny and immerse yourself in its history with the ancient Benedictine abbey, a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture 🏰. If you're more drawn to forest and mountain, La Roche de Solutré 🪨 will be your favorite spot. You can climb this iconic cliff ✨ for a breathtaking panoramic view of the vineyards and the Saône Valley 🏞️. Speaking of vineyards, the Wine Route will open up to you! 😇 Perfect for a couple's moment, exploring the surrounding vineyards 🧐 and tasting some of the best Burgundy wines! 🍷
So grab your schedule 🗓️ and book your weekend to come run along the banks of the Saône during the Mâcon Half Marathon! 😜
