What if we told you that for once you won’t be taking the elevator—what would you say? 😜
That’s the new challenge we’re offering you with the Metropolitan Sky Run! 🗼 Yes, we understand that at first glance it’s the kind of event that’s a bit masochistic, but above all it’s a chance to test your athletic abilities in a short but very intense effort! 🤠 So, shall we tell you more? First off, the setting is sure to be right up your alley—just imagine yourself in the fabulous city of Barcelona in Spain 🇪🇸, right in the middle of October! Ah, the end of the fine days is coming soon 🌞—nothing like it to still enjoy an outdoor challenge! 🌆 And to get straight to the point, it’s about climbing 569 steps, over 29 floors and 105 mD+ 🤯. And all of that running, of course! 🏃♀️ Big news for 2026: with an event that’s becoming very well known, this year it’s officially part of the Towerrunning World Association circuit! This organization brings together various tower stair races and even has a dedicated competition 📍. For this race, its factor is 120 in the international ranking, which means it awards a good number of points for competitors! 🤓 Well, in the moment you may not have time to notice, but the climb offers a 360-degree view over the whole city! 👀 Do you think you’ll spot the Sagrada Família? 🏰 That incredible basilica imagined by the architect Antoni Gaudí! 👨🎨 Construction began in 1882 and it’s still not finished! In any case, once you reach the top of the famous Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower, it will be time to enjoy this extraordinary panorama 😎.
Since this event is quite original, its organization doesn’t fall short either 🤗. For example, when you register, you’ll be able to choose your start time ⏰. Scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., it’s up to you to decide what moment will be best! And the cherry on top: you’ll also be able to enter the music of your choice, which will be played when you’re in the starting blocks! 🏁 We know you want to choose "Eye of the tiger" 🐯 to stay on theme and so that the strength of Rocky Balboa is with you! Awaken the Italian Spanish stallion within you! 🫵
Once you’re done torturing your legs 🦵, you’ll have earned a little leisure break! Simply walking around Barcelona is already a very enjoyable activity 👌, but it’s not certain you’ll enjoy racking up kilometers with all the soreness you’re going to have! 🦿 Instead, cultural activities are a must! 🖼️ To start, if you liked (even if it was from afar) the architecture of the Sagrada Família, then you should go see other works by the artist Gaudí! 🔨 The Casa Batlló and its ceramic façade are sure to appeal to you—buildings like that, you probably haven’t seen very often in your life! 😉 As for museums, there’s the one that presents and traces the life of the famous painter Pablo Picasso! 🎨 But if you’re more drawn to indulgence, you can also take a trip to the Chocolate Museum! 🍫 For those who leave with chocolate bars in their pockets, a little break is in order! 🕺 And for that, nothing beats dipping your feet in the water at Barceloneta Beach (in May it’s not certain you’ll put in more than your feet)! 🦶
One thing’s for sure: after the Metropolitan Sky Run, you’ll never take the elevator again! 🤘
