In July, in Paris, what is there to do? Swim of course! 🏊♀️ It might not be the answer you were expecting, but yet we're serious 🫡. The Open Swim Harmonie Mutuelle Paris sets the stage (scene) and organizes a great sports day 🔥. This insurance, for over ten years, has partnered with the Open Swim, aka the first public open water swimming circuit in France 🇫🇷. For this stage, we stop in the French capital with a great challenge ⭐️.
The program is simple, you just have to choose what suits you best ✅. We start easy, with 500 m in the Canal de Pantin 💦. On a round trip of 250 m in the basin, you can be alone and complete this half-kilometer like a pro 🧑🍳. Otherwise, you can also invite your craziest friends to repeat this 4 times, in the relay 4 x 500 m 🤝. We change waterways and head to “ the Seine, the Seine, the Seine...” 🎶. Between the Pont Saint-Louis and the Pont Sully, you will make a loop right next to the Île Saint-Louis 🌉. In the arm of the Paris town hall, there will be a loop of 1 km 🔄. Depending on your format, you will do 1 km, so 1 loop, or you can take on a bigger challenge and loop twice for 2 km ⚡️. The last proposal, a 5 km swim near La Villette 📍. Starting from the Bassin de la Villette, you will make a small loop before swimming up the Canal de l’Ourcq to Pantin ⬆️. Once in the basin of Pantin, one last lap to go and you're done! 🏅
But do you really know open water swimming? 🧑🏫 The aim is to swim in natural bodies or courses of water 🌲. This discipline is a great sports practice, but it also has many other benefits! ✨ It helps improve your physical health (obviously), your mental health, your immune system, and your well-being 🧘♀️. That's not all, the list is still long 📋. By practicing it, you discover the local ecosystem and biodiversity, you can get to know people and take on challenges of all sizes 💪. Harmonie Mutuelle, through this partnership, clearly emphasizes one of their core values: eco-health 🍀.
Moreover, this stage is even more remarkable due to its location 🌆. Indeed, historically, the Open Swim were created to revive the famous event "The Paris Swim Crossing" 🐋. Yes, in 2012, SSO Active was inspired by this former challenge of the 20th century to recreate a competition 🏆. With this in mind, Stéphane Caron and Laurent Neuville, former swimmers, wanted to highlight their passion by promoting swimming in the heart of the cities 💥. The story is perfect to join this Parisian stage! 🌞
