The event in a few words

Want to smash your personal best while treating yourself to a memorable trip to Eastern Europe? 🌍

Then tie your laces—we’re taking you to western Poland for the PKO Poznań Half Marathon! This must-do running event takes place every year in the heart of spring, in April, in the city of Poznań ☀️. The capital of the Greater Poland region, this historic city has a running tradition deeply embedded in its DNA, pulsing to the rhythm of footsteps with each new season 🏃. This legendary half marathon comes to wake the city up and whet runners’ appetites before the iconic historic marathon takes over in the fall 🍂. Forget insurmountable hills and technical trails: here, the profile is meticulously optimized for pure speed with an ultra-flat, fast course ⏱️. If your goal is to light up the clock, you’re exactly where you need to be 🚀.

The experience starts right from the gun on the famous Roosevelta Street, right next to the huge Poznań International Fair 🏛️. The course offers one single official distance: the legendary half marathon 🏅. Along the way, you’ll run through wide avenues and pass exceptional monuments, all wrapped in completely wild popular fervor 🎉. You’ll never be alone on the asphalt. You’ll feel the electric, indescribable energy of a massive pack that recently saw a spectacular wave of 13,500 finishers cross the finish line! 🤯 Music groups and local DJs take turns in the spectator zones to boost your pace, carried by local crowds and a world-class athletic heritage 🎶. The real highlight comes a bit further on, when the course takes you running straight inside the legendary ENEA Stadium! ⚽ Charging onto the pitch while hearing cheers echo in the stands will make you feel like a true European star 🌟. Once that endorphin rush fades, a long straight on Grunwaldzka Avenue brings you back to a spectacular finish on Marka Square, inside the international fairgrounds 🏁.

Once the medal is around your neck 🥇, the crucial question arises: what to do after the race? The answer is just a few steps away, in the cobbled lanes of the historic center 🌆. You absolutely have to head to the Old Market Square to admire the magnificent Renaissance-style town hall 🏰. If you’re there at exactly noon, look up at the tower: two metal goats come out of the clock to butt horns twelve times, an unmissable local tradition! 🐐 To recharge after such an effort, make your way to the Poznań Croissant Museum 🥐. It’s here that you can taste the famous St. Martin’s croissant, a protected local specialty, generously filled with white poppy seeds, nuts, and candied fruits. A real calorie bomb that will instantly make you forget the tough last kilometers 🍰. Finally, if your legs will still allow it, end your day with a relaxing stroll along the shores of Lake Malta, a superb rowing lake surrounded by green parks, perfect for easing post-race soreness after such an effort 🌲.

No time to strike a poz on the course! 🤪
