The event in a few words

Join us in December and end the year in style at the Saint Sylvester of Braga 🎉. The 5th largest Portuguese city opens its doors to you and invites you to roam its many lively streets 🏃.

A few days before the Christmas celebrations and numerous year-end feasts ✨, get your ticket to come run in Braga, in the sub-region of Calvados Cavádo 🇵🇹. Whether you're an experienced athlete looking for performance ⏱️ or an enthusiast in search of a festive atmosphere, you're sure to find happiness in this beautiful historic city. In the glow of headlamps 🔦, you'll discover the charming urban city in an atmosphere divided between the intimate darkness of the night and the overflowing enthusiasm of local supporters 🎊. This event is also a way to discover a municipality rich in emblematic religious monuments: the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, the Braga Cathedral ⛪️, the Basilica of Our Lady of Sameiro and more than a dozen religious monuments await you to tell their stories 📚.

Power walk or intense run, choose your preferred course. As for running, the circuit wanders through the entire city in a unique 10 km loop. There's no retracing your steps or redundant landscapes ❌, everything here is designed so you can discover as many urban corners as possible. Regarding the course profile 📈: the times speak for themselves with a record under 29 minutes at the previous edition. Made entirely of asphalt, you can let your legs run at full speed on this smoothly rolling course, without worrying about rough terrain or dreaded ankle sprains 😬. For those of us not in a hurry, a 5.7 km walk version is also offered. It allows you to fully enjoy the local Christmas spirit, observe the surroundings well, or even come dressed in red and white with a big beard if you wish to pass off as the star of the moment 🎅. You have two hours to fully immerse yourself in the persona and cross the finish line at Praça da República.

Once the sports part is over, it's time for the celebration, comfort and refreshments 🤤. Perhaps the best part of the race? We'll let you be the judge 🫵. Our tasting suggestions focus on Pudim Abade de Priscos (a kind of lemon and cinnamon flan, made with a little quirk 👀), the roast kid 🐐 (perfect for fans of good local meats), or the more classic Pastel de Nata 🥧. Well, the latter does not necessarily come from Braga, but we never said we were exclusive: you have to try everything in life! And if you still have energy after all that 😮‍💨: we have plenty to satisfy you. Braga is a modern, very student-friendly city 🧑‍🎓, recognized at a European level for its economic, cultural and social development towards the youth. You will easily find entertainment and meet people 💥.

So this year, put on your sneakers and prep your cardio 🫀: your best gift will be reaching the end of this race 🏁.

4 reasons to join this race

Its performance-focused course 🎽
For 10 km, you can let your legs run and aim for a new PR. The course, organized 100% on a flat and paved track, will allow you to materialize your weeks of training 🏋️‍♂️ during a fast race without too many curves. The significant density facilitates fast paces, so have fun and give it your all! 🏎️
Its culinary specialties 🥧
Braga is Cavádo, and Cavádo is Portugal. In Portugal, pastries, liqueurs, and cod are king 👑. This event is an opportunity to travel geographically, but also gastronomically 🤤. You might come back with more luggage than you left 😬.
Its mild climate ☀️
Yes, even in December, it's warmer than in France 🌡️. We don't promise a thermometer hitting 30°C at this time, but at least a milder climate than in the baguette country 🥖. If the sun decides to make an appearance over the weekend, you might even stroll around the area and enjoy the mountainous landscapes ⛰️.
Stories to tell 📖
With over 2000 years of history, the Portuguese city doesn't lack historical significance and anecdotes of all kinds 🇵🇹. Its numerous religious affiliations have given birth to exceptional monuments, crossing eras and populations 🏛️. Ancient architectures, mostly visitable and accessible, that will leave you in awe.
