Ongi etorri to San Sebastián! 😎 The sun, the blue sky, birds singing 🐦, and the sound of waves crashing on the shore... 🌊 No, you're not dreaming. You're about to start the San Sebastián Half Marathon! 🏃➡️ In April, this charming city located in the heart of the enchanting Basque Country in Spain 🇪🇸, welcomes you with open bars arms 🥰. Given the still cool temperatures of early spring 🌸, you're not likely to dive headfirst into the Mediterranean Sea. However, nothing will stop you from going all out to achieve a personal best on this fast course 🏎️. Even Fernando Alonso is envious 😳.
On 21 km or 10 km, the course will be the same, so you won't risk going off track! Discover the La Concha Beach 🐚, the seafront, the city center, historic center ⛪ and even Zurriola Beach 🏖️... The route is like a real picture postcard! 🖼️ The San Sebastián Half Marathon is one of the fastest half marathons in the country and brings together a high-quality elite field 💪. But don't worry! If your mantra is more relaxation than competitiveness, you'll fit right in 😌. It would be a shame not to enjoy the magnificent view of the harbor 🚤 and the most beautiful beaches of the Basque Country! 🤩 Just make sure you're not tempted to stop and sunbathe on the beach 😆. But don't worry, we trust you'll wait until after the race to let your medal shine in the sun! 🏅
So, what to do after the race? 🤔 Once you've proudly celebrated your achievement, it would be a shame not to extend the joy of this weekend with the Basques 🥳. Besides enjoying their delicious cuisine (who can say no to a pintxo 😋) and a cold cerveza, we suggest you unwind by strolling through San Sebastián and exploring its surroundings! 🗺️ You can touch the sand of the famous La Concha Beach you admired during your race ⏳. To learn more about the Basque Country, you can marvel at the spectacular architecture of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, about an hour's drive away 🚗, or hike on Mount Igueldo ⛰️ for breathtaking panoramic views 🌄. If you liked San Sebastián, then be sure to visit the charming villages of Getaria and Hondarribia, rich in culture and history 🤓.
Fernando Alonso is already in the starting blocks for the San Sebastián Half Marathon! 🏁 So, what are you waiting for to lace up your running shoes? 👟
