Fancy some sun, cocktails, tapas, and running? 🏃♂️
Lace up your sneakers and book your tickets now to Malaga, one of the eight provinces of Andalusia where the annual average temperature is 18°, boasting sunshine about 300 days a year! 😎 So even though the marathon is in the middle of November, you will enjoy pleasant weather to stroll through the historic center and along the sandy stretches... Head to Spain 🇪🇸 to enjoy a marathon that will whet your appetite: the Malaga Marathon (or Generali Maratón Málaga)! But don't worry, there is also a half-marathon 😉. For the younger ones 👧, a Kids Run is also organized!
Labeled by World Athletics, the event is considered one of the main road races worldwide due to its beauty, the quality of its organization, and the level of its athletes 😍. You got it, the Malaga Marathon is a must for all athletes who love urban circuits and modern routes, all within a relatively flat course ideal for great performances 😌. With two races, a 21 km and a 42 km, the competition combines comfort and self-improvement with a peaceful seaside panorama and a high level of performers 🏋️. The bonus of this race is that it is solidary: one participant equals €1 donated to the Ochotumbao foundation, which improves living conditions for the most disadvantaged, animal protection, and environmental conservation throughout Spain 👏.
The grand loop will start and end at the Paseo del Parque, a breathtakingly green avenue where you'll skirt the port for over 800 m ⚓️. This will mark the beginning of an intense walk through an idyllic setting 😍. You'll then traverse a multitude of monuments and various landscapes, such as the mythical Malagueta bullring (inaugurated at the end of the 19th century) or the grand Plaza de la Merced, one of the city's most famous ✨. But wait! You'll have plenty of time to discover the city's most beautiful sites at the end, like the Levante Dam, stretching 1,235 m! 😯
As we know, the only way to make it to the end is to tell yourself that after effort comes comfort! 😅 And this, the capital of the Costa del Sol understands well! It offers a wide variety of culinary specialties all more tantalizing than the next 🤤. You can also enjoy the iconic Marques de Larios, with its various shops, cafes, and famous illuminations 🤩.
Anyway, a beautiful way to end the year, right? 😏
