The event in a few words

Hey runner! 🏃‍♂️ Get ready for an incredible experience by signing up for the TotalEnergies Malaga Half Marathon! A renowned Spanish sporting event that sets Málaga ablaze, a must-attend event! 🫡

As the capital of Andalusia, the city of Málaga has existed since ancient times, making it the oldest capital in Europe 🇪🇺. With 29 museums, 24 of which are located right in its historic center, it boasts one of the highest numbers of museums around! 🤓 After the race, take some time to visit the Roman theater. This relic dates back to the 1st century BC and sits at the foot of the majestic Alcazaba fortress, the most significant and best-preserved fortification in Spain! 🇪🇸 If you're into painting 🎨, consider visiting the Picasso Museum, which houses over 200 works 🖼️ by the famous Spanish painter 👨‍🎨.

We know you're here to break a sweat and not necessarily to soak up culture, so let's talk about what's happening this March. There will be one sole race, a half marathon. Last year, for the 33rd edition, there were 5,500 runners hitting the streets with one common goal: conquering those 21.097km. The race welcomes para-athletes ♿️, who can enjoy a discount on their registration 📝. The start line is on Avenida Manuel Alvar near the Ciudad de Málaga Stadium, followed by a mainly coastal road course 🚢 where you can catch a glimpse of the sea 🌊. Along the way, you'll pass iconic landmarks of the city, like the Málaga lighthouse, a symbol of the city located at the port's entrance.

Spring 🌸 is typically mild in Andalusia, with temperatures between 15° and 20°C 🌞. The water might be a bit chilly, but you can still enjoy a stroll on the beach and bask in the sun to relax after all that physical effort! 💪 Málaga is home to beautiful beaches 🏖️, and if you don't want to stray far from the city center, La Malagueta beach is perfect for you! As the saying goes, after effort comes comfort! 🥵 To refuel, we recommend trying tapas. Málaga's cuisine is typically Mediterranean, and you'll have the chance to discover Pescaíto frito, Espetos de sardinas or the authentic Gazpacho. If you're in the mood, try Cartojal, a sweet wine that's a city specialty 🍷.

Remember, drink responsibly. Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health.
