Attention to those who think Egypt is all about pyramids and dusty museums 🏜️: prepare your swimsuit and sneakers because we're taking you to the Riviera of the Red Sea! 🌊
The Somabay Endurance Festival is the country's most comprehensive multisport event, at the heart of Soma Bay 📍, nestled about fifty kilometers south of Hurghada. Here, you don't choose between land and sea, you take it all ☝️. The program is as varied as an adventure film cast: triathlon (Olympic, Sprint and Super Sprint), road race of 10 km and formats dedicated to children 🧒. While you're sweating, the kids have their own challenges to tackle, from the mini-triathlon for 8-12 year-olds to the 1 km for the little ones 🏃♂️. In short, it's a winning combo of performance and paradisiacal holidays 🏝️. It's also the perfect opportunity to test your resistance to salt 🧂 and sun in the month of May ☀️.
The playground is worthy of a movie set 🎬. You will swim in the crystal-clear waters of the bay💦 before launching onto an ultra-rolling bike course 🚴♀️, swept by the desert winds 🌬️. The running part takes place on a panoramic promenade where the turquoise blue of the water contrasts with the ocher of the surrounding mountains 😍. It’s flat, it’s fast, and it's above all of an insolently natural beauty. No killer elevation here (0 m elevation gain), just pure speed and the cry of seagulls cheering you on 👏.
This is not just a race; it's a real immersion into a passionate community from around the world 🌍. Between events, you can try kitesurfing or just chill on the white sandy beaches surrounding the marina. Visit the Karnak temple, the largest ancient religious site in the world and the most impressive site in Egypt 🤯, enjoy a day trip to Luxor 😎, take a motor boat ride on the Nile... 🚣♀️ There are plenty of activities to discover the land of the pharaohs! 🤩
So, ready to etch your name in the sand of Somabay? 💪 Put on your sunglasses 🕶️, set your time trial bike, and come show the desert what you're made of! 🔥
