The event in a few words

"Who, who? The midnight relayers!" ๐Ÿ”ฅ

For this edition of the Night of the Relays, see you in Bordeaux, in the heart of the Southwest Metropolis, more precisely at Place Pey-Berland ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Women's Foundation, the Night of the Relays is setting its bags in early June in Gironde, in the department of New Aquitaine ๐ŸŒŠ for an event you will remember for a long time. Here, there's no need to be a marathon runner ๐Ÿƒ or have the calves of Rocky Balboa ๐ŸฅŠ: the event is a relay race in solidarity, inclusive, and festive, open to everyone ๐Ÿ™Œ. We're not talking about the stopwatch โฑ๏ธ, but about heart, with an intense evening where every extra lap helps advance women's rights ๐Ÿ™.

The route takes place in the city center of the Bordeaux municipality. The Place Pey-Berland โ›ฒ๏ธ is somewhat the heart of the city ๐Ÿ’—: here you will find City Hall (which you can also call "Palais Rohan" if you want to be classy, and which dates back to the 18th century ๐Ÿซจ), the Saint-Andrรฉ Cathedral, or even the Pey-Berland Tower ๐Ÿ—ผ. Each monument has its history and constitutes an architectural marvel ๐Ÿ›๏ธ. So the program is to run as many laps as possible in this iconic local setting ๐Ÿ”. Running in this setting, with a sunset at the end of the day and an atmosphere worthy of the Olympic Games, you'll see it has something grandiose and glorifying ๐Ÿคฉ. And especially when you're running for a cause that makes sense... The profile is flat, ideal for alternating between frenzied running and dynamic walking without risking a sprain ๐ŸŒธ. You'll set off for a 1.5-hour relay with your team on a 600 m course. All this to support the Women's Foundation which works in assisting women victims of domestic violence.

The atmosphere is the lifeblood of this event ๐Ÿซ. Don't expect monastic silence โ›ช๏ธ: here, it's a true luminous human tide ๐ŸŒˆ. We have hundreds of participants, companies and teams united under the spotlights ๐Ÿ”ฆ. Between two relay shifts, you'll enjoy a lively village ๐Ÿ•บ, a refreshment bar to recharge ๐Ÿธ, and a DJ set that will transform the mythical square into an open-air nightclub ๐Ÿชฉ. Itโ€™s the ultimate anti-austere race ๐Ÿช™, where smiling is mandatory in every photo ๐Ÿ“ธ. Yep, we're watching you ๐Ÿ˜‰.

After the race, take advantage of being in the city center to explore the surroundings ๐Ÿ”. You can extend your run near the Bordeaux Park or stroll along the Left Bank ๐Ÿ’ฆ. The docks were refurbished a few years ago ๐Ÿšง, and since then, we haven't found a better place to stroll at the end of the day or on weekends ๐Ÿ˜Œ. Taste-wise, venture into the Saint-Rรฉmi and Saint-Pierre streets, just a few meters from the legendary Rue Sainte-Catherine ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ, the largest pedestrian and shopping street in Europe ๐Ÿ˜ฑ by the way. Indeed, challenges come one after another ๐Ÿ˜‚. These streets are full of typical bistros offering local specialties and sharing boards among teammates. Here in Bordeaux ๐ŸŒ, canelรฉs and duck breasts are kings and it would be a shame to miss out on them ๐Ÿ‘€.

On your marks. Get set? Run! ๐Ÿ

4 reasons to join this race

An adventure to share ๐Ÿค
The event is experienced in teams of 3 to 5 people, making it the ideal team-building activity or the perfect outing with friends. We take turns, encourage each other, laugh, and eventually cross the finish line together. It's proof that unity is strength, especially when it comes to passing the baton with class ๐Ÿค.
A true commitment to solidarity ๐Ÿซ‚
Participating in the Night of the Relays is above all supporting the Women's Foundation and fighting against violence. Every euro collected through your โ‚ฌ500 donation collection goes directly to field associations that support victims daily ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™‚๏ธ. You're not running for a medal, but for the equality and dignity of all โœŠ.
A grand open-air party ๐Ÿ•บ
Unlike classic races where you go home after a shower, the Night of the Relays is a real festive evening. Between the village entertainment, the DJs, and the refreshment bar, the atmosphere never lets up until the end. It's one of the few events where people come as much for the ambiance as for the sporting performance ๐Ÿ’ƒ.
The surrounding monuments ๐Ÿคฉ
Strolling around Place Pey-Berland is a bit like visiting a museum, but without the walls, with the sun warming your head, and much more grandiose ๐ŸŒ…. The Pey-Berland Tower, the City Hall, and the Saint-Andrรฉ Cathedral already hold surprises for you, but if you extend your walk to the Grand Thรฉรขtre or to Place de la Bourse with its famous Water Mirror ๐Ÿชž, you'll truly see what Bordeaux-style class means ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

Message from the president of the Women's Foundation, Anne-Cรฉcile Mailfert:

โ€œAgainst violence towards women, we all have a role to play. With the Night of the Relays, we turn our collective momentum into concrete action alongside women and the field associations that support them. Ensuring every woman a life without violence may seem obvious, but it remains a battle where each step is a victory.โ€
