You'll have to get wet if you want to stay in pole position 🏆. Well, so to speak... Leave your armbands and pull boy in the locker room, here we are talking running 😎.
The Trail of the Three Rivers takes place in Is-sur-Tille, in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. Caution, nothing to do with the famous 3 Rivers rum, here it’s your legs that will pulse more than your head 🍹. Organized in the month of May, it's ideal for a nature and sunny break in Côte-d’Or ☀️. Between trails, re-starts, and more rolling sections, you come seeking the pleasure of running in a green setting, with a real challenge that will get your heart pumping 🫀. The department is not known for being completely flat, and you will quickly find that out 😝.
Whatever your level, you can find your format and set a goal up to your height 🎯. The organizers did not stint and put at your disposal 8 distances on which to start. We know: 8 distances 📏, 3 rivers, we do not do things by halves here 😂. For lovers of fast courses: the Mount Race of 10 km is the number one option. Here, no endless course, but an incomparable speed. The second favorite is the Ignon 💨. Do not rely on its cute name, the 14 km rolling hills waiting for you are anything but cute 🥵. Prepare to take on the slopes, the 400 mD+ will give you no respite. One level up, you'll find a race that will work your endurance more: La Tille 🏃. With 30 km of trails and 900 mD+ of altitude gain, the cardio will be necessary to make others drop like pins 🎳. You will learn to manage your energy, your drinks, and your food supplies for more than 2 hours 🤯. For the most outlandish runners, a 82 km monster will also trot you through the Burgundian landscapes. The T3R is the final boss of the event, so don't show up empty-handed 😅. However, if you really want to take it easy and not stress in advance of the beautiful days: a family race of 1 km is offered. Nothing better before a little picnic in the grass and a sunny nap 🧺. The sharp calculators will have noticed the absence of 3 distances in our presentation, here they are: two children's courses of 2 km and 3 km and a Nordic walk of 13 km, the Venelle 🎒. And on the Venelle side, we don’t do things by half ❌, the course holds the national label and is part of the Burgundy-Franche-Comté Championship. Children, amateurs, professionals, walkers, or runners, there is really something for everyone in Is-sur-Tille 😊.
After the race, if you're not on the beautiful island of the Martiniquais rum distillery 🇲🇶, you can enjoy the Côte d'Or area. No seaside or sandy beach in sight, but sun and greenery instead 🌱. Here is our top 4 activities to enjoy within an hour's drive! 🛣️ The local classic is Dijon. The city center will seem especially designed for the occasion: condensed, charming, and historical 🤩. No need to walk miles and miles between each remarkable spot. To finish the day beautifully, have a quick hot-dog with Dijon Mustard or sit on a terrace to enjoy a good big beef bourguignon 🥩. Continuing south, you'll also find the Hospices de Beaune, a regional must-see. And if it was mainly the beef that interested you in Dijon, don't worry, they'll have some in the area too 😉. For those who prefer vineyards to cattle, the Château du Clos de Vougeot offers guided tours (and tastings 🤤). A beautiful heritage, vines, and a divine liqueur, now that's recovery as we like it 😎.
