The event in a few words

Set your sights on the immensity of the Alpine arc, with a masterful route that often crosses several countries. The program invites you to devour an undisputed monument of ultra-endurance: the legendary Transalpine Run, shortened to "TAR". The profile is an absolute beast: around 250 to 270 kilometers to cover over 7 or 8 consecutive stages, with cumulative elevation gain regularly flirting with 15,000 to 16,000 meters. Your body will have to absorb the equivalent of a marathon in the Alps every day and learn to recover in record time. The magic (and the harshness) of the event lies in its DNA: it has historically been run as a team of two (although a solo format now exists), forcing you to share the highs and lows with your partner, united for better or worse! ⏱️

The technical scree trails launch you into an oversized landscape that changes radically from day to day. Your effort will have you stacking up high mountain passes, crossing lush valleys, skirting age-old glaciers, and dropping back down toward piercing-blue alpine lakes. The immersion becomes dizzying when you walk the ridgelines. You’ll feel like you’re undertaking a true initiatory journey, carried by the wild beauty of the high mountains and the rhythmic clack of your poles striking the rock 🦅.

Camaraderie is absolute in the face of time barriers and Alpine storms. Evenings unfold in the stage villages, around huge pasta parties where blisters are tended, cramped thighs are massaged, and the terrifying profile of the next day is studied. An atmosphere of total communion and emotional release welcomes you under the very last finish arch, where the pressure finally drops and tears of fatigue mingle with hugs 🏅.

Save one last instinct for indulgence to honor the hearty Alpine cuisine once your trail shoes have been tossed into a corner. Haul your battered body to a Tyrolean Stube to wolf down a comforting trio of Knödel or a platter of generous Käsespätzle. To top up your glycogen stores with gusto, order a monumental Kaiserschmarrn. Above all, celebrate your incredible crossing of the Alps by toasting with your partner over a huge, ice-cold Weißbier! 🍻
