At the meeting point of the Dordogne and the Garonne rivers 💧, on the Ambès Peninsula, your path ends... and your race begins! 🏃♀️ The Marathon des 2 Rives offers a culinary menu of events 👨🍳: enjoy a marathon solo or in a relay, savor a half-marathon that's wonderfully medium-rare 😋, a crispy 10K 💥, and a corporate challenge to spice up your after-work hours! With the kickoff to the outdoor season in full swing 🍸, now's the perfect time to select your race, after all, in May, do as you please and pick from these tempting options 👀.
Additionally, the Gironde region offers mild and pleasant weather 🌸 this time of year, perfect for seeking a personal best 💫 on this breezy and remarkably flat French course! 🇫🇷 With just 80m of elevation gain, this marathon is beloved by elite runners and offers a delightful experience for enthusiasts aiming for a sporty outing without excessively straining their legs... 🫢 You'll enjoy diverse landscapes and stunning views at this confluence, also known as the Bec d'Ambès 🐦. As you run, enjoy a backdrop of parks, marshes, and migrating birds 🏞️. This scenic biodiversity 🐝 is characteristic of the Bordeaux region 🍷, immersing you in the grandeur of the Gironde estuary, Europe's largest estuary, flowing into the ocean! 🌊 And if the locals aren't too busy cheering on UBB from the stands 🏉, they'll be thrilled to cheer you on with their characteristic warmth and enthusiasm! ❤️
If you're tempted to extend your stay in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, rule number one: ask for a chocolatine, not a pain au chocolat! 🍫 Or you might find yourself chased by the baker through the cobblestone streets of Bordeaux... 😬 A surefire way to set a new personal record! 😂 The Port of the Moon 🌙, located 30 km from the Ambès Peninsula, is the perfect spot to taste 😋 some of the finest wines of the Aquitaine coast (drink responsibly) and enjoy delicious oysters 🦪, local specialties! For a leisurely stroll 🚶♂️, visit local markets and the Citadel of Blaye, a UNESCO World Heritage site, rich with UNESCO-recognized local history 🤓. Cap off your stay with a *drum roll* water adventure! 🛳️ Several ferry companies offer cruises on the estuary, giving you a new perspective on the local landscape! 👀
