Buckle up, it’s going to be a bumpy ride 🫨
Ah, running events… they’re like mushrooms in October—they pop up everywhere 🍄🟫. But the one we want to tell you about isn’t grown from the same soil, and it actually takes place in March. The Chrono Loop of Talant is a brand-new event organized by a team of talent (yes, yes, you saw that one coming) in the east of French territory, in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Get your calves, ankles and your shock-absorbing talant heels ready—the course is shaping up to be rugged 😈.
The concept is simple: a 2.72 km trail loop to repeat until you can’t take it anymore 🥵. A Franche-ly unusual idea? Sure—but ridiculously fun (and grueling). You do it at whatever pace you choose, over durations of 1h, 3h, 6h or 12h. One thing’s for sure: you’ll know the small Côte d’Or commune like the back of your hand 📍. Every turn, every rock and every shrub will feel more familiar than your own parents 🤯. And as if that weren’t simple enough, the course also includes 63 mD+ of positive elevation gain to really wreck your legs all day long 📈. You’re probably thinking it’s not six dozen meters of climbing that will push you into the red, but as talant-ed as you are, we can assure you that after 10 loops and 27 km covered, the 630 mD+ equivalent will definitely get your thighs cooking 🥵. Intense short effort, a packed afternoon, or full board—it's up to you to pick the duration you want 🫵.
Alright, now that we’re done with the bad news, let us share some info that will put a smile on your face 😃. The route, between city and nature, which you’ll be stringing together again and again, can be run solo, in pairs or in a team of 3 ⚡️. In short, you split the effort however you like. In fact, our personal little tip is to invite your toughest training partner to blow the competition away—and only run 2 hours out of the 12 required 🙄. In 2027, it’s the very first edition, so if there’s one time in the year to make a podium, it’s at the Chrono Loop of Talant! 🏅
But the real icing on the cake of this trail (or ultra-trail, depending on the distances you plan to cover) is the reason it exists 🎂. All the profits are donated to the association École Claire-Aimé, a specialized class welcoming young people affected by intellectual disabilities, aged 11 to 17. So your registration helps support a kind, structured project, where each child can thrive and find their place 💕. A bit like you at the Chrono Loop of Talant, in the end 🤪. Personalized support, specific equipment and adapted materials cost money, and a big part of your bib fee goes to funding all those essentials! 💸 In the same weekend, you can do an ultra and be ultra-supportive—that really loops shuts you up, doesn’t it? 🤐
Racing is great, but what you find around it matters too 🏃. At Finishers, we’re pretty aligned with that, which is why we’re going to introduce you to the little local wonders: monuments, gastronomy and culture—you can comté count on the region to leave you memorable souvenirs, as much in your thighs as on your taste buds 🤤. If yesterday’s soreness doesn’t go away, you can first head to the Parc de la Fontaine aux Fées and beg the little beings there to heal all your wounds ❤️🩹. The place may be less famous than Lourdes, but you’ve got nothing to lose by trying 😅. And in the area, parks are plentiful: Parc de la Combe Saint-Joseph, Parc de la Combe Persil or Parc de la Combe à la Serpent—you’re going to be comb-pletely satisfied 🤓. All these walks might work up an appetite, but don’t worry: around here, that’s basically a great opportunity for discovery. Let’s Dijon(s)-it clearly: Burgundy is one of France’s main wine-growing regions and is brimming with delicacies both liquid and solid 💦. If you want to sample as much as possible, the Halles de Dijon are a perfect concentration of indulgence and discovery 🍽️. Mustard, blackcurrant liqueur and the local gingerbread will hold no more secrets for you 😌.
You got it: at the Chrono Loop of Talant, you come to rack up the miles, but you leave above all with memories worth (Côte d’)Or 💭.
A word from the organizer:
"Because running for a long time isn’t enough to say what we’re worth. We wanted formats that reveal something else: the ability to stay present in the effort, to welcome fatigue, and to discover that perseverance can also be a form of pleasure."
The route consists of a single loop of 2.72 km and 63 mD+, to be completed self-sufficiently as many times as the allotted time allows 🔁. It seems really simple... and it is! The course alternates urban sections and more natural stretches, with a profile that feels fast on the first lap but will definitely get your thighs burning in the long run 🥵.
Depending on the chosen format, the start is given at 5 a.m. (12H Loop), 9 a.m. (1H Loop), 11 a.m. (3H and 6H Loops) or 2:30 p.m. (Solidarity Loop), always from the Marie Thérèse Eyquem Sports Complex 🏟️. One same loop, an infinity of sensations 😵💫.
