Ultra X Maroc

The event in a few words

After Rwanda 🇷🇼 and Tanzania 🇹🇿, Ultra X continues its tour on the African continent. This time, it's Morocco 🇲🇦 that will be the center of attention and your next race! 🏃‍♂️ As with Ultra X England, you have the choice between these 2 main distances: a 50 km trail or a 110 km trail. And if you're already eager like the desert a flame 🔥 and already want to book your plane tickets ✈️, know that the starting line is located in Ouarzazate, a small town in the Draâ Tafilalet 🐫 region. So, if you wish to strut in this exceptional region, you need to register for Ultra X Morocco, which will take place on November 15 and 16, 2025.

Again, the concept of Ultra X is simple: thanks to this organization, you have the opportunity to enjoy several races scattered around the world each year 🌏. The distances are as varied as the countries involved: they range from a simple half marathon to a 250 km trail! 😳 Regarding the location of the competitions, there is also a choice! Ultra X races are present in several countries 📍 and therefore offer a wide range of possibilities in terms of climates ❄️, landscapes, and challenges 💪.

As for the Ultra X Morocco, you have a rendezvous at the entrance of the Sahara Desert 🏜️, in the charming and typical city of Ouarzazate. Located at 1,150 m altitude 👆, the historic city offers a unique and stunning landscape. Perched on a small hill, "the Gateway to the Desert" is as yellow as the sand surrounding it. Its ancient stones will surely plunge you into a surreal atmosphere! 🤩 The contrast between them and the lush vegetation below the city will make you feel like you're facing a true oasis. The little bonus is that you can also see in the distance the peaks of the High Atlas, notably that of the Toubkal ⛰️ massif, which culminates at 4,167 m elevation. "Wow, it must be magnificent. I'd like to see that!". You know, Maximus, you've already seen it. This city has been used as a filming location for many epic and peplum films such as Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Oedipus Rex 👑 (1967), The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (2000), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Game of Thrones, and Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cleopatra (2002). Prepare yourself to relive some of the most memorable scenes in cinema! Well, we've whetted your appetite enough with mint tea 🍵.

Now, all you have to do is choose the distance you will tackle. If, like Maximus (Decimus Meridius 😌), you are a gladiator 🤺, you can opt for the 110 km (1,323 mD+). This exceptional race in two stages will have you sleeping under the stars 💫 before experiencing a true sensory journey 🥰, "along the Kasbahs, through traditional fortified villages, lush oasis 🌴, and rocky deserts." However, if you prefer a more moderate effort, you have the 50 km (410 mD+) which should suit you perfectly. This one-day race will also allow you to see the riches of the region since the course joins that of the 110 km... We see you coming! "Day, night... We're talking about the desert here!" 😟. You're right, a weather update is due 🧐: since the race takes place in November in Morocco, you can expect moderate temperature variations, ranging from 8° in the evening to 30° in the daytime. It could be worse! 😂 However, don't forget to bring suitable clothes for these changes ⚠️.

Ultra X races are definitely great opportunities to grab for world-traveling runners in need of travel, thrills... And UTMB points! 💰 Yes, these races are indexed and earn 50K!

Come on, we'll let you think about the dish you'll choose to recover from your trial (tagine or couscous? 🤔) and prepare for an Xtreme sensational event with strength and honor 😉.
