Nice to see you again! It's the desire for new adventures that brought you here! 🤠 You won't be disappointed. This time, we offer you the chance to push your limits by participating in an Ultra-Trail! Don't worry, we know this word can be a little intimidating and you might think only stars like Mathieu Blanchard can run them! 👑 But that's completely false, with Ultra X Rwanda, the organization offers runners the opportunity to experience something unforgettable in beautiful places around the world 🗺️. To enjoy it, head to the districts of Burera and Muzanze in Rwanda 🇷🇼. Two race choices are on the program: 110 km to be completed over 2 days, or 50 km of trail in a single day 💪. Both distances are recognized in the UTMB Index, in the 50K and 100K categories 🏅.
This race will take you off the beaten path, offering an extraordinary experience in breathtaking landscapes 😱. On your route, you'll pass through the Volcanoes National Park. This park's uniqueness lies in housing the last mountain gorillas in their natural habitat 🦍. There are, of course, volcanoes, as you might expect! There are five in the park alone: Karisimbi, Visoke, Muhabura, Gahinga, and Sabyinyo 🌋. Besides the park, you can discover the Twin Lakes: Lake Ruhondo and Lake Burera. Unless you're already a Rwanda specialist, you'll discover a magnificent country, with its traditional coffee 🌱 and banana fields 🍌, its diverse vegetation, and endless hills that will warm your heart! 🥰 The start will be at the Lake Ruhondo dock at sunrise 🌅. To prepare for your race, we strongly recommend arriving in the country at least 2 days before the event 🛬. The time difference and journey might leave you a bit groggy! For the rest of the program, it's quite simple: on Friday, buses will leave downtown Kigali, the capital, at around 10 AM 🚌. Once you reach the race site, you can register between 2 PM and 5 PM, then participate in the pre-race briefing 🎽. Saturday will be the big day, with shuttles transporting your bag with all the necessary equipment for the night 🌙, in the meantime, you'll head to the starting line with the other competitors! 🏃♀️
For the second stage runners, it starts at the gorilla camp near Kinigi at 7:00 AM! 🕺 On this route, you'll enjoy views of the Twin Lakes. The finish atmosphere promises to be festive 🔥, with the organization encouraging numerous participants to support the remaining runners in a spirit of camaraderie and sharing! 🤝 To conclude the Ultra X Rwanda on a high note, festivities will take place near the shores of Lake Ruhondo from 6 PM onwards 💃, there will of course be an awards ceremony and an all-you-can-eat buffet to reward so much effort! 🥘
