The event in a few words

Welcome to the top of the Giant of Provence! New year often rhymes with new challenges 💪 and for that, the VentouxMan makes a grand return! 🤩 This iconic and unique triathlon in France 🇫🇷 invites you this September in Monteux, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region 🌞. It's at the foot of the legendary Mont Ventoux 🏔️, in the Vaucluse, that you will start (or restart, for the connoisseurs 😉) the adventure! With its 2 km of swimming 🏊‍♂️, 104 km of cycling 🚴 and 18 km of running 🏃, it's a long-distance event that awaits you in the heart 🫶 of Provence 🪻. You can choose to complete the event solo or in relay in pairs 🤝. The event maintains its organization 😁 with all transition zonescentralized at the same location, which is much easier for the athletes! 📍 This means you can, right out of the water 🌊, hop on your super Nimbus Bike 2000 🧹 to conquer the Mont Ventoux 🚵.

It's an extraordinary triathlon that awaits you! 😎 The VentouxMan consists of three steps of self-surpassing, but specifically, what does this edition have in store for you? 🤔 You will start with 2 km of swimming in Lac de Monteux, where you will complete two laps ➿ with an Australian exit mid-course. It's a moment of great fervor for the crowd, who can enjoy a live spectacle and boost the athletes' energy! 🥳 After getting out of the lake, you will immediately jump on your bike and head towards the most coveted mountain by cyclists, need not be mentioned anymore: the Giant of Provence 🤯. You'll climb the mountain by its toughest path, but we know nothing stops you! The major elevation of the event is concentrated on this section so hold on, it's not that long (only about 104 km 😅). Along the way, natural landscapes 🌿 will accompany you to the summit, offering you a clear view of the entire valley 😯. Finally, you'll have just the 18 km run to cap off… and wear out those legs 😂. The plan includes two loops ➿ of 9 km around the lake shores. A perfect opportunity to take in a quaint little Provence village, just a stone's throw from Carpentras. If you're running the triathlon in relay with a three-member team, the division will be simple: one swimmer 🏊, one cyclist 🚴‍♀️, and one runner 🏃‍♂️. For two-member teams, distribution is optional. More events are also anticipated for this 11th edition! 🎉 You can start Duathlon L if you aren't fond of cycling ☝️. And for off-road enthusiasts, the VentouxMan is organizing the Gravel M Triathlon to reconnect with nature! 🥰 A Triathlon S will round off the weekend events 🗓️. For road enthusiasts, a 10 km race is organized starting at the Stade Saint-Hilaire of Monteux. You'll need to sharpen your gear to outrun the cyclists blazing down Ventoux's slopes! 💨 The children will also be in the spotlight during this 2026 edition 🧒 thanks to the "Aquathlon Kids" 🌊 event. They will have multiple running and swimming distances according to their age 🤓. This event, increasingly popular among triathletes, is gradually becoming a referential family sporting event 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦.

But that's not all! A buffet 🥪 awaits you at the finish 🏁 to replenish your energy 💪. You can also enjoy a cold beer 🍻, and osteopaths 🧑‍⚕️ will be at your service for some good recovery! 😉 Around the Ventoux ⛰️, small Provence villages full of charm are plentiful 🌬️. After your triathlon, take some time to explore one of the many Vaucluse villages 🏘️. Pernes-les-Fontaines with its vineyards 🍇, Carpentras with its monuments 🏰, Venasque with its history 🏛️, Bédoin as the mythic village of the Tour de France 🚴 or even Avignon with its Papal Palace, you've got plenty to do! 😝

So, are we seeing you at the top of Mont Ventoux? 🤗

4 reasons to join this race

The magnificent course 🤩
We think you might have guessed it, you're about to start a triathlon in one of the most incredible settings! 🤯 The bike event 🚵 will take you on the most famous and feared course in the cycling world: the ascent of Mont Ventoux 🏔️. It's a must for all seasoned cyclists who want to challenge themselves on a legendary circuit ⭐. You'll have the opportunity to do it as a triathlete, and not everyone can say that! 😎
The electrifying atmosphere 🥳
This year, the Ventouxman is set to be one of the craziest! The start and finish lines, along with the exhibitor village, will all be at Lac de Monteux 🏁. It will also be the gathering point for supporters, with a promised top-notch atmosphere to cheer on triathletes during their transitions! 🎉 From the swimming event, with an Australian exit mid-race, you can regain motivation as you pop your head out of the water 🏊‍♂️. One thing's for sure, you won't lack encouragement! 👏
Enjoying a unique triathlon ✨
Have you ever seen a triathlon pass by the summit of Mont Ventoux? No? 🤔 Well, that's normal, there's only one, and it's inimitable! 👸 The VentouxMan is the only triathlon with such a legendary cycling stage. You will climb Mont Ventoux via Bedouin, the most technical and steepest side! 📈 You'll have to earn this ascent of the Giant of Provence 🥵. Moreover, the event takes place at the end of the season, allowing you to be well-prepared and give it your all for one of the last triathlon meetings of the year! 💪
A human-sized event 🥰
Although the VentouxMan has quickly become one of the most sought-after French triathlons, it has managed to keep its human dimension 🤗. Everyone will find their place in the transition zones with a maximum capacity set at 2,000 participants. In addition to a reasonable number of triathletes, the event is growing and offering more and more formats for budding young triathletes 😜. The "Aquathlon Kids" helps to democratize the practice of triathlon among the younger generation. This intergenerational sharing highlights the collective character of this otherwise individual sport 😌.

A few more words

Haven't had enough and want to know even more about the triathlon awaiting you? You're in the right place! 🤓

You will start at lake Monteux at 7:30 AM for women, 7:35 AM for relays and 7:40 AM for men, beginning with the swimming event 🏊‍♀️. You'll swim 2 km, which means two laps around the lake! Halfway through, you'll appear on the lake beach 😀. Indeed, an Australian exit 🦘 is planned to thrill the audience 🔥 and give you the motivation for the second lap of the lake 👏.

As soon as you emerge from the water, you’ll hop on your bike! 🚲 You'll set off on a beautiful 104 km tour with the highlight being the Mont Ventoux 🤩. You'll climb the slope known to be the most demanding 😥 and then descend back towards lake Monteux to make your final transition!

Remove your helmet and swap your clip shoes for your running sneakers! 🏃 During this final challenge, you'll cover 18 km on a fairly flat course (150 mD+ though), which will finish off your legs 😅.

And after all that, it's already the finish line! 🏁 So, not bad for the VentouxMan, right? 😉
