Head to Verona 🇮🇹, the city of the star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet 💏. If they sealed their love in this beautiful city, we think you too might find yourself caught up in a frenzy of love 😍 (but this time everything will end well, promise 😉). But don't forget you're here for the race! You're more likely to find a side stitch than your soulmate! 😂 But fortunately, the Verona Marathon offers different races: a "Family Run" of 10 km for the more reserved ones 😳, a magnificent half-marathon with its 21 km for the romantics 😘, and the fabulous marathon of 42 km for the passionate 🤤. If you're coming to Italy 🤌 for the Verona Run Marathon, whether it’s just for the marathon or the half-marathon, you will have the chance to explore the must-see streets of the city center, as well as more remote and wilder places 🌾. "Mmmh ma che bella"! 🎻
The marathon and the half-marathon will start at Piazzale Olimpia, where the superb Stadio Marcantonio-Bentegodi 🏟️ is located. They will then gradually delve into the surrounding plains of Verona. You'll traverse small roads before running alongside one of the largest Italian rivers: the Adige! 🌊 This postcard-worthy landscape 🖼️ will help you forget the 15 km you have to cover before returning to the city center 🌇. But the effort is worth it. With its medieval style, old houses, and Roman ruins 👩🏫, Verona is among the most beautiful Italian cities 🥰. If you're doing the half-marathon, your ordeal dream will soon end. You'll let marathon runners leave on the opposite side of the banks to head directly to Piazza Brà, right next to the impressive Arena Di Verona 🏛️. Meanwhile, the brave marathoners will find themselves in lots of green! 🌳 This time, it’s the charm of the Italian outskirts that might make you fall in love ❤️. But don’t lose your bearings 🧭: you’ll need to turn around before reaching Lake Garda! 🏞️ Don’t forget your goal 🎯: to complete the race! 🏃♂️ And the water is somewhat cold this time of year ❄️. Once you reach the municipality of San Martino Buon Albergo, you'll have about 10 km left to beat your time ⏱️ and join your friends at the finish line! 🏁
As you’ve probably realized, these various routes will allow you to discover and flirt with the historic places of Verona ⚜️. As you've guessed, a true cultural and romantic journey awaits you, and we hope you're ready (with a good cardio 🫀) to meet and court Italy! 😎
