« Felicità … È abbassare la luce per fare pace, la felicità »
Get your sneakers ready for an event that goes far beyond the borders of Val-de-Marne! ✈️ Vivicittà is an opportunity to run for peace and international solidarity, in the heart of Vitry-sur-Seine, in the Île-de-France region 🇫🇷. For this 10th edition held over two days in April, the event is based on a strong history 💪. This concept was born in 1983, driven by the Italian Union of Sport for All (UISP) 🇮🇹. With a great list of events on the program, you are participating in the "largest race in the world » ⭐️. How so? Simply because it is a simultaneous event, gathering thousands of runners in 60 cities around the globe! 🌏 So you will be running at the same time as people in Sarajevo, Algeria or Kyoto 😲. The main format is a 10 km timed race, but the offer is varied with a 5 km (timed or free pace) and a duo relay of 10 km.
Well, let us introduce the distances a bit better. As you understood, we start strong, with the mythical race, the 10 km timed format ✅. Since it remains a good challenge, you can also do it in a relay 👯♀️. Yes, remember sharing and solidarity, are the kings of the day! 👑 If you want a more relaxed challenge, a 5 km timed and a non-timed option are available 📋. So either you aim to beat your time, or you choose a chill pace, to enjoy a good run 🧘♀️. Since no one should be left out, children are well highlighted in this event. The aim of this race is to defend a cause AND bring together as many people as possible, so children, we won't forget them ‼️ Depending on their age, they can participate in a 500m, 1300m, or 2000m race, the champions will be right before your eyes! 👀 Oh, we almost forgot about one crazy race. The "R'Vivi," an intergenerational relay in a quartet! 🙀 That, in terms of solidarity, is impressive! 🔥
The race's DNA is based on an act of resistance through sport 🏃♀️. Organized by FSGT 94, the event advocates for social justice and environmental respect 🌱. It's a popular running event where you'll meet professional athletes as well as Sundays joggers🫂. What makes it unique is its international adjusted ranking ⚡️. The medical sports institute has established precise parameters, according to the elevation profile (end the elevation, it's simpler 🤣) of each host city 📋. Result: your time in Vitry is weighted and compared fairly with that of a runner on the other side of the world 🙃. You can then download your official diploma directly on the UISP website, giving you a great memento 📜.
Sure, you run simultaneously with runners worldwide, but you can't travel with them… 🧳 That's sad, but don't worry, you can also enjoy this race to plan a good weekend 🙂↔️. Only 8 minutes of transport and there you are in the heart of Paris! Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre Museum, you… That's a lot of stars per m2 🤩. Kidding aside, there are many visits to do! 🗼 But one thing we recommend is having a beautiful cliché day in the capital. So here's the plan: start with a café on the terrace, stroll along the Seine banks ☀️, French meal in a typical brasserie, visits of various monuments, and ending the evening in a good Parisian bouillon 🥖. Per-fect ✨.
Between doing a good deed, highlighting your values, and participating in a great race, here, there's no need to choose, you do everything at once! ✨
The ranking 10 km, is the flagship course to test your endurance and appear on the world ranking 🌎. The route consists of an urban loop in Vitry-sur-Seine, mostly on wide paved avenues 🌃.
The profile is quite flat, allowing you to maintain a steady pace without any issues 🧘♀️. You pass by community hubs, buoyed by the energy of fellow runners 🏃♂️. It’s an ideal distance to confirm your progress on asphalt ✅.
The 5 km (timed or at a leisurely pace) is perfect for a restart or to participate without the fatigue of a 10 km 🔥. It takes a portion of the main course, ensuring the same atmosphere and a passage through the animation zones ☀️.
In the "free pace" version, it's total freedom: you can run at your own pace, without the stress of the time limit, simply to support the cause 💝.
In a rather unusual format, this race "R'Vivi" is intergenerational! 👴 The program is simple: the first relay runs 400m, the second relay 500m, third: 800m, and the fourth and final relay 1,300m. Let's not forget that the goal is to have perfect solidarity, so the last 200 meters are done TOGETHER 🥳. Also, of course, the ages must be different among all the runners 🏃♂️.
For children, the distances are as follows:
