One hour south of <a href="kavval://cities/d554ec9d-1fd6-4810-be3f-13aa108299a1" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Paris</a>, this department located in the <a href="kavval://level1AdminAreas/af420965-fd50-43f2-b1cf-0c2ee1cbe649" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Bourgogne-Franche-Comté</a> region is a contrasted territory shared between the beauty of its plateaus, its <a href="kavval://tags/vineyard" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">vineyards</a> 🍇, its waterways 💦, its dense <a href="kavval://tags/forest" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">forests</a> 🌲, and its rich <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_des_ch%C3%A2teaux_de_l%27Yonne" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">medieval</a> heritage 🏰. But far from castles and fortresses, it's in the heart of the Icaunaise town (yes, that's the demonym for Yonne), <a href="kavval://cities/4f91f360-f0a2-43b3-afe8-4bdb5a2834c2" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Champlost</a> that we take you to run 🏃‍♀️ and pedal 🚴 at the end of <a href="kavval://pages/d565cfa4-d364-4338-ae14-0001c034569e" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">June</a>. It is under the first rays of summer sun ☀️ that the unique Yonne Vétathlon takes place. Organized by the friendly association of Champlost firefighters 🧑‍🚒, this family-friendly and convivial event welcomes both young and old, runners and cyclists from all over France.3 events that flirt between <a href="kavval://pages/30300aa8-919d-44ac-8ca6-015258ce663e" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">road</a> and <a href="kavval://pages/19c6236d-b5b7-431a-87ba-e50b74dcd383" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">path</a> are on the agenda 🏁. The first and not the least, the 35 km, which can be done solo or in <a href="kavval://tags/relay" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">relay</a> 2-or 3-person (another great way to challenge friends 😉). The course includes successively 3 routes: a <a href="kavval://pages/19c6236d-b5b7-431a-87ba-e50b74dcd383" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">trail</a> of <a href="kavval://pages/36cb519f-4d50-4a8f-823d-34dbe17cbd40" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">10 km</a> to 'warm up', then a 20 km mountain bike ride in the shade, in the heart of the <a href="https://www.annuaire-mairie.fr/foret-domaniale-de-malgouvernes.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Malgouvernes Prunelles state forest</a>, and the last 5 kilometers running to reach the finish line in the village 🏘️. For the less ambitious, there is the 16 km starting with <a href="kavval://pages/c809acb4-a209-4539-a70a-d15d7110bbae" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">5 km</a> of trail followed by 10 km of mountain biking and finishing with one last kilometer of trail. Since the organizers are generous, they've also thought of the younger <a href="kavval://tags/kids" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">generation</a> with their own vetathlon 🐣. So if you're aged 12 to 18, get ready to chain 1 km running, 5 km mountain biking, and another 1 km running. In short, you'll understand, there are options for everyone! 😍In terms of scenery, the Yonne Vétathlon will delight athletes 🏋️ in search of open spaces and <a href="kavval://tags/off-road" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">nature</a> 🍃. But the serenity of this pastoral scene will be somewhat disrupted by the cheers of the crowd specially come to empower the participants 💪.
