At the edge of the earth

Facing the Atlantic and the sea, Finistère has a very special aura, that smells of freedom and authenticity. From Concarneau to Morlaix passing by Brest and Quimper, there is an entire wild territory waiting for you! Embark for the end of the world and its wonderful trails...

There was a time when Ouessant was truly the end of the world. The small island off the coast of Brest, before the Americas were discovered, represented this fantasy. Despite everything, the presence of the Atlantic Ocean and its vastness continues to be felt when strolling along the Finistère coast, swept by foam and wind 💨, so free here. Do you know where the name Finistère comes from? From the Latin finis terrae, meaning "end of the Earth" in French 🇫🇷. While man has long sought to explore beyond the seas, let's now explore right in the heart of the lands! If you love nature and trail running, Finistère is the place for you.

Hiking enthusiasts know it well, trekking on the customs path, aka GR34, is a privilege... available to everyone, walkers and runners! 2000 kilometers of trails along the sea in Brittany... This trail, renowned for its beauty, will allow you to savor the wonders of the Bay of Morlaix, the oysters 🦪 of Carantec, or even the freedom of the corsairs 🏴‍☠️ of Roscoff. You will then head towards Brest and its protective island, Ouessant... A very nice city, where it's good ( 😄 just a manner of speaking) to party. But noooooon, it doesn't always rain 🌧 in Finistère, in fact, it didn't rain yesterday. And the sun is never far after the rain 🌦... Your strides, or steps, will then carry you to the wonderful 😍 Crozon peninsula.

If there are any enthusiasts of the inland and forest 🌳, be aware that the Armorique Regional Natural Park extends from the Pointe de Pen-Hir (west of Crozon) to Guerlesquin, halfway between Morlaix and Guingamp (department Côtes-d'Armor). Another possible route. If you decide to stay on the GR34, then we hope you enjoy your arrival at Ile-Tudy, accompanied by seagulls and gulls. Ah, stop if you can halfway in the charming village of Locronan, another wonder of the Côte de Cornouaille. Its uniqueness, among others, is being on top of a mountain! South of this height and the Black Mountains, the Cornouaille plateaus extend towards Quimper, a city of the middle lands where you can sit down at a good table to enjoy a galette and a good AOC Cornouaille cider. Come on! You will have enough energy to go to the true finis terrae afterward, namely the Pointe du Raz! Where the Atlantic spray will finish restyling you. Armel Le Cléac'h, born in Saint-Paul-de-Léon (between Roscoff and Morlaix) in 1977, awaits you on his lands...
