DRANSE & RABAH HOUALI
Born on October 2, 1989 in Caen, Dorian Louvet spent a long time punching tickets before punching records 🚂 . A former SNCF ticket inspector, this French runner first shone on the track in the 3000m steeplechase, all the way to the French national championship title in 2016. The general public discovers him in 2020, a finalist on Koh-Lanta: Les 4 Terres. The Norman then reinvents himself as a marathoner, coach, and storyteller of adventures on social media. His standout feat? In 2025, he completes all seven World Marathon Majors in the same season with an average of 2h27'52", a world record.
Before the avenues of Manhattan, Dorian Louvet wore out his spikes on the tracks of Normandy. His specialty: the 3000m steeplechase, that race where each lap ends with a plunge into the water pit. He won the French national championship title in 2016, clocking 8'57"16 (profile on World Athletics).
No pro contract, though. The runner from Caen fits his training sessions between shifts as a ticket inspector and strings together start lines at road races in Normandy, just a few strides from the Marathon de la Liberté.
In 2020, France discovers his smile on the islands of Fiji. A finalist in Les 4 Terres, he falls just short of the final, eliminated in the orienteering challenge. The adventure gives him an audience that he quickly turns into a community of runners.
In August 2021, he links Mont-Saint-Michel to Caen along the coast: 560 km in eight stages—one marathon a day—supplemented by cycling, in support of the “Pour Bertrand-Kamal” association against pancreatic cancer 💪 .
On the road, the times follow: 2h20'39" in the marathon in 2024. With his Running Academy, he guides hundreds of runners to their own finish-line arch.
At the start of 2025, he launches Miles of Discovery with ASICS, his official sponsor. First stop: Tokyo, on March 2, knocked out in 2h18'56", a personal best and the best Frenchman in the race 🗾 .
What follows stings. Boston and its punishing Newton Hills, then London six days later: 2h33'41" and 2h33'23", a back-to-back he himself calls the worst moment of the project. Sydney and Berlin go by in pain: 2h28'02" and 2h28'24", before the rebirth at Chicago in 2h25'27".
On November 2, he crosses the line at the New York City Marathon in 2h27'09" 🗽 . The tally: 295 km of asphalt and an average of 2h27'52", a new world record, ahead of the previous mark held by American Michael Wardian. Dorian Louvet’s achievements are now written on a global scale (full story on Marathons.com).
The epic becomes a documentary, screened in Carpiquet in January 2026 🎬 . This year, he swaps asphalt for trails: his first UTMB completed in 24h48'02" in 101st place, around Mont Blanc ⛰️ , before a return to the sand of Koh-Lanta All Stars. His next bib? Follow him closely, then choose your Major or your ultra-trail and book yours 🏆 .
