Your next race will take place on an island ๐๏ธ. If we say Malta, what do you think of? Partying? ๐บ Well no, wrong! Here, we're here to tell you about the famous Malta Marathon ๐ค.
Created in 1986, it's one of the oldest in Europe, no less! For its 41st edition, the organizer offers you 4 events: the famous marathon and its 42.195 km, the half marathon of 21.097 km which you can do in walkathon mode, a 5 km charity race, and finally a kids' race of 1.5 km! ๐ถ. This last event will follow the half-marathon course; you will also start at the same time, but you will have a bit more time to finish the race. You can choose to do it walking (of course), but also running. The idea is to offer a less competitive event ๐ but one that is still challenging! ๐ช This city-to-city race will start from the former capital, Mdina, and finish in Sliema ๐.
This race will allow you not only to push yourself, but also to enjoy the beauty of this Mediterranean island by running along the seaside, under a sunny sky ๐ and with rather mild temperatures for the month of February โ๏ธ. By starting in Mdina, you're embarking on a race full of culture and history. Indeed, the city, nicknamed the "Silent City" ๐คซ, is a historic city located in the center of the country. The former capital of Malta is renowned for its peaceful atmosphere, its quiet streets and its timeless feel ๐.
If, once the finish line ๐ has been victoriously crossed, you still have energy to spare, head to the capital to dance all night ๐ชฉ. Known for its lively nightlife, Valletta hosts many festivals throughout the year ๐. If you're in the mood for quiet strolls, head to Rabat, Mdina's neighboring town, ideal for family walks ๐ช. If you don't feel like wandering around on foot ๐ฃ, and you come out of your race completely wiped out, don't hesitate to go relax on the beaches of Golden Bay : one of Malta's most beautiful beaches, perfect for resting after the effort ๐๏ธ and just a few minutes away by car ๐.
So, ready to take on the challenge and live an unforgettable experience ? ๐ Sign up now and come savor every stride in this exceptional setting! ๐
You will start from Mdina, outside the bastions of the former Maltese capital. You will then cross Rabatโs main road, go down via Nigret to reach Ta'Qali ๐ค. You will continue for 5 km before reaching Attard and then Mosta. Once you have crossed the town, you will be back in Ta'Qali and then once again in Attard. When you get out of this loop, you will follow the old aqueducts from Mriehel to Birkirkara, then you will skirt Mriehel. You will then continue on to Triq Dicembru, then to Blata L-Bajda. From here, you will only have 5 short km left. You will run along the seafront ๐ of Sa' Maison, Pieta, Msida, Ta' Xbiex and Gzira all the way to the finish in Sliema ๐.
