Looking for a good excuse to come admire Paris during the Christmas season? 🎄 It's true that you've heard so much about the lights and the charm of the capital that you can't wait any longer to fulfill your dream... 🙄 Luckily for you, it's in early December that the city hosts the Saucony 10 km of the Eiffel Tower 🗼. Those who have never heard of this event need to rectify their mistake immediately: it's THE end-of-year race of the City of Light 💡. To stay in shape, to anticipate the hearty meals of the holidays, to perform, or to discover legendary monuments, this event is an unmissable rendezvous for Parisian runners, and even from all over the world 🌍. So, you are expected in Paris, in Île-de-France, to complete the 10 km most spectacular of your life ✨.
This year is a special year for the 10 km of the Eiffel Tower, as a new partner comes to add its name, none other than Saucony! Saucony 10 km of the Eiffel Tower has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? 🔥 Saucony is a footwear brand straight from the United States 🗽. The company was born along a creek in Pennsylvania and this creek inspired their famous logo 🚣♀️. Every year 💪, the brand continues to innovate to offer shoes at the cutting edge of technology! 🔬 With Saucony on their feet, athletes should at least run at the speed of light 🏎️. It's fitting since the event's course is considered one of the fastest in France ☄️.
Every year, several thousand runners gather at the starting line of this race. Among them, some have only one goal in mind: break THE record and win the prize 🤑. Currently, the race record is 28 minutes and 30 seconds, which, you'll agree, makes it no easy task for those who want to do better! 😂 In any case, as you can see, this flat course is conducive to achieving exceptional times ⏱️. You may not be in the lead pack, but you too have every chance of breaking your personal record and, as a bonus, being on the front line to see high-level athletes 🙌.
Moreover, that's not the only thing you'll see! 😏 This competition is also renowned for the beauty of its course, located in one of the most beautiful areas of the capital. Indeed, your route is dotted with monuments as iconic as they are magnificent! 👌 "Dotted" is even a bit of an understatement... 😅 They're everywhere! You'll start at Place Fontenoy, in front of the École Militaire and the War Memorial of 1870. You'll see the famous Place Joffre, from where you'll have a breathtaking view of the Champ de Mars 🪐 and the majestic Eiffel Tower. And what would a visit to Paris be without a stroll along the Seine riverbanks? 🌊 Nothing! That's why you'll run along the Quai Jacques Chirac, from where you'll have a superb view of the Pont d'Iéna and the Trocadéro, located on the other side! Along the way, you'll also have the opportunity to contemplate the Pont de l'Alma, the Quai Branly Museum, and the bridge, the museum, and the esplanade of the Invalides 🤩. You see? You're going to see a lot in just 10 km! Note that the course offers several straight lines that will allow you to give it your all 🚀. During your sprints, you'll have plenty of time to see the mythical Haussmannian buildings that are among the beauties of Paris 🇫🇷.
We know, you're disappointed! You were hoping to spend more time in front of the Eiffel Tower! In that case, we have a tip: come back at nightfall to see it illuminated! Before that, during the day, we expect you to go for a walk at Montmartre, take a look at the Sacré-Cœur, wander through the Louvre Museum, visit the Musée d'Orsay, or stroll in the Latin Quarter 🛍️.
So, shall we end the year on a high note? 😌
