This is the first time the Durance river will witness so many runners all at once! 🤯 Yes, the Durance Half-Marathon and 10 km is a first 👶, and you'll need to be quick to take the plunge: only 1,000 participants will be able to start the event! 😅 It's in Charleval-en-Provence 🏘️, in the Bouches-du-Rhône that you will run under the gentle November sun 🗓️. You'll dive, not into the Durance, but into a real postcard 🖼️: endless fields, garrigue, olive trees... It's Provence! 🌞 In the distance, you'll even catch a glimpse of mountains: the Chaîne de Côtes, with its highest point, the Mont Trésor, nestled at 398 meters altitude ⛰️.
As its name suggests 🤓, you'll have the option of two events: Half-Marathon or 10 km! You'll see, whether you're a beginner or a podium regular 😎, the courses are suitable for everyone. So accessible that you'll need to watch out for the rockets 🚀 who'll be there to race against the clock! ⏱️ We often say "Brittany wins you over", but we often forget that Provence brings luck! 🍀 You'll have to give it your all on these straight and flat courses to try and receive some good news on your watch once you cross the finish line 🏁.
By the way, what do we do after the Durance Half-Marathon and 10 km? You know as well as we do: after the effort, comes comfort! 💆♀️ We won't suggest taking a dip in the Durance, as it might turn into a cryotherapy session 🥶. To ease your aches, go visit Charleval! 🥰 Its 17th-century château is worth a visit. As you lose yourself in the village's streets, you'll quickly notice a small peculiarity ☝️: the streets are all straight, the alignment is perfect! 📐 On the other side of the river, you'll find the mythical town of Puget, renowned for its olive oil 🫒.
