The event in a few words
The Backwaterman Swimrun in Mitterreith is the perfect combo to make you feel alive: you alternate between freshwater and nature trails in the heart of Lower Austria, in the Politischer Bezirk Zwettl, where lakes and ponds rule the roost ✅.
You pick your adventure between Trial, Sprint Ambitous, Half Marathon or Marathon, and you enjoy a playground that’s always changing—like a journey… but in sport mode 🧭.
After the race, stay in the area: head off to discover Zwettl and its famous Stift Zwettl (the abbey—stunning), go hang out near Schloss Rosenau for a visit that’s a change of pace, and if you’re craving big scenery, take a detour to the Waldviertel for a peaceful walk—perfect as a couple or with the family 🌿.
You come for the water/land alternation, you leave with a mini Austrian adventure as a bonus: in Mitterreith, we “take the plunge”… and we don’t regret it! 😉
