Attention, legendary and sought-after race ahead! 👀 We take off today towards Denmark ✈️, to the municipality of Tårnby, which is part of the capital area, Copenhagen. The Bridge Run is an incredible event that has already made history in this sport... 😳 Ja! The race has indeed gone down in history for allowing 90,000 runners to start in the first edition in 2000, with nearly 80,000 finishers ! 🤯 Incredible. This cross-border race, which connects Copenhagen 🇩🇰 and Malmö 🇸🇪, is one of a kind 🤌. If there's one must-do half marathon, this is it! 👇
On the official site, it is specified that you do not need to bring your passport for the race... 🤭 Naturally: the race is run across the famous Øresund Bridge 🌁. Frankly, looking at the images, you already want to be on this 8 km construction, braving the wind and enjoying the scenery... 🤤 Do you see yourself there too? Great! 🤩 But you will need patience and determination, as the 2025 edition is already sold-out... 40,000 runners have already registered for this legendary event that celebrates the friendship between these two European countries 👯♂️. The last edition was in 2010, so the upcoming one marks a rebirth for the Bridge Run, after 15 years of absence. At the same time, it had to mark the occasion: the year 2025 will also mark the 25th anniversary of the Øresund Bridge! 🎂 If you manage to aim for 2026 or later, you too will have the right to the exceptional view from the monument located in the Øresund Strait.
Located north of Germany, Denmark 🇩🇰 is a wonderful destination for travelers. And Copenhagen, let's not even mention it! 😍 The country's largest city is a mixture of nature, culture, traditions, and modernity. It is no longer the fishing village of yesteryear! However, you can still find this mark, especially with the colorful houses visible in the Nyhavn harbor 🌈.
By the way, don't forget to say hello to the famous Little Mermaid statue! 🧜♀️
After reaching the city of Tårnby, south of Copenhagen, you are expected to drop off your luggage with the organizers to begin your journey to Sweden via this Øresund Bridge 😌. Normally, the tunnel and bridge connecting Denmark 🇩🇰 and Sweden 🇸🇪 are closed to pedestrians. But not on this day! 🙅
The race will start in Tårnby and you will then head towards the highway to enter the tunnel that leads to the bridge. You'll experience four kilometers of tunnel, itself situated 20 m under the water, before emerging into the open air.
You will then proceed for 4 kilometers on the artificial island of Peberholm, and finally see the highlight: the Øresund Bridge 🙌. Get ready for an incredible 8 kilometers, with a peak at nearly 60 meters above the sea... 🌊 Once you reach this point, you will have already crossed the Swedish border and can already see the land. The finish line is located in Limhamn, near Malmö 🏁.
You must be 17 years or older by June 15, 2025, to participate. If you were born after 2008, you cannot participate.
You can collect your race number and backpack at the expo held in the days leading up to the race, on the Swedish or Danish side of the Øresund. Don’t forget to present your registration card, which will be emailed to you one or two weeks before the race.
The start will be at Tårnby, Denmark, at 10 a.m. on June 15, 2025.
A medical certificate is not required to participate in the race.
Safety facilities will be present on the course, including paramedics, first responders, and water stations.
Water and food stations will be available every 5 kilometers on the course.
All participants will receive a medal and a backpack at the finish line.
The time limit to finish the race is 3 hours, which corresponds to a pace of about 8 minutes and 30 seconds per kilometer. A bus will follow the course and pick up participants who are unable to keep pace within the allotted time.
Paid parking will be available near the start and finish area. We recommend using public transportation as much as possible, as parking spaces are limited.
Free buses will transport runners from Sweden to the start area in Denmark in the morning. Similarly, buses will transport runners back to Denmark at the finish.
Minor runners must have written parental consent to participate in the race.
The Bridge Run welcomes participants with disabilities. You will need to specify your disability during registration so that we can consider it in race planning and for safety reasons. Please note that special buses for transport to the start and return across the Øresund Bridge to Tårnby after the race are NOT wheelchair accessible!
