The event in a few words

Have you ever dreamed of running in the land of the rising sun? 🌅 Well, here's the perfect opportunity for you! 🫵

The Ecomarathon of Kanazawa located in the beautiful city of Kanazawa, in the Prefecture of Ishikawa, in Japan 🇯🇵 is a must-attend event for any runner 🏃‍♂️. The event, taking place in May 🍂, offers 3 timed races ⏱️ of 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km. Whether you are a beginner or experienced, you will have the opportunity to run along the bike path that follows the Saigawa River 🎣. If you've come for a family day, a parent-child race 👩‍👦 of 5 km is organized. You will start at 11 AM, and with the races being limited to 200 participants in total, you won't risk getting trampled when the start is given 🤓.

With several other sporting events organized, particularly in the prefectures of Saitama, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Kumamoto (but mainly in Tokyo 🌸), the Ecomarathon stands as an organization environmentally friendly 🌳 and committed to different causes 🎗️. This year, it is possible to donate to the International Refugee Support Association: Second Harvest Japan. The first food bank in Japan, the organization is committed to ensuring everyone has access to food 🍲.

If you plan to extend your stay and explore the region, the Prefecture of Ishikawa is full of tourist attractions for both young and old! 🤗 Don't miss the must-sees like the Japanese garden Kenroku-en, one of the three most beautiful in Japan 🤩. For art enthusiasts, the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art will be a treasure trove! 🖼️ To conclude, how about a detour through the old town and the castle? 🏯 It's a must to understand the traditional Japanese craftsmanship in terms of artisanal art and feudal architecture 🤓.

Tie your laces well and come run for the planet! 🌍

4 reasons to join this race

Discover Japan 🇯🇵
If you've never been to Japan, running the Kanazawa Ecomarathon is the perfect opportunity to explore a country that blends tradition and modernity at every turn. If you decide to extend your stay, we invite you to explore Ishikawa Prefecture. By the Sea of Japan, not far from the Japanese Alps ⛰️, you can visit the old town, which develops around the castle park and the famous Kenrokuen Garden 💐.
A flat and fast course ⚡️
Whether you choose to run 5 or 10 km, you might be surprised by the ease of the courses, which could potentially allow you to break your personal record 🏅. If you hope to spend a Sunday with your family, a parent-child race is organized for children under 15 years old 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒.
Participate in human-sized event 👫
The maximum capacity is 200 people. If you're used to international races with several thousand participants, you'll see that it's not the same bustle! But don't worry, we guarantee you'll have as much (or maybe even more) fun running 🏃‍♀️.
Taste Japanese specialties 🍱
Although less known culinarily than some of its neighbors, the city of Kanazawa offers a wide range of culinary specialties 🥡 that will delight you during your stay. We invite you to taste (without moderation) jibuni, kinjiso, or even mochis 🍡 to nicely end your meal 🤤.
