The event in a few words

If you're looking for a run where the cold is of no concern, and where pom-pom hats dominate instead of technical shirts, the Santa Run in Wolski Forest is a must-do 🏃‍♂️. It's typically the December stage of Krakow's Grand Prix, turning forest paths into Santa's playground. The course is challenging, full of climbs up Piłsudski Mound and technical descents, but the atmosphere – with carols playing and hot tea at the finish line – makes it one of the most anticipated starts of the year ❄️.

After the frosty effort and earning the Santa medal, Wolski Forest and its surroundings offer winter recovery:

Warm-up in a sauna: Nothing rejuvenates after a winter mountain run like a visit to Krakow Thermal Baths Błonia 🌊. The warmth of the sauna and the view of the snowy Błonia is the perfect ending to the Santa challenge.

Winter walk: Visit Piłsudski Mound to possibly see the frosty Tatra Mountains, or stroll to the nearby Zoo where some animals look particularly majestic in the winter setting 🦌.

Atmospheric Salwator: Descend towards Salwator and walk along Bronisława Hill towards Kościuszko Mound. It's one of the most peaceful places in Krakow, perfect for unwinding after sporting thrills 🏰.

For a well-deserved calorie boost, drop by the Baba Jaga restaurant in the heart of the forest – their sour soup or hot zurek will get you back on your feet in minutes 🍜. If you prefer something sweet, hot chocolate at Wedel's cafe on the Market Square will be an excellent treat for your taste buds ☕. If you're looking for something special, the restaurant U Zosi near the Zoo offers homemade meals in a setting that becomes enchanting in winter 🍰.

This run proves that even in December, Krakow can warm the hearts of runners to a fiery red! 🏆
