The event in a few words

If all you know of Normandy is the Mont St-Michel and the Calvados ๐Ÿท (not the department ๐Ÿ‘€), this race will do you the world of good ๐Ÿ˜Œ. We're not saying you're wrong, but Ver-sur-Mer, a small coastal town located a few kilometers from when Caen, is much more than that ๐Ÿ‘Š. Don't worry, we'll explain: โฌ‡๏ธ

Here in April, we're not talking about fish, but rather about sports practice ๐Ÿƒ. The La Veroise association organizes its own trail to introduce the general public to local marvels โœจ, and it's not a joke ๐ŸŸ. Between sea and countryside, you'll wander from town to town ๐Ÿ™๏ธ and the landscapes will be a sight to behold ๐Ÿคฉ. Indeed, these routes around Ver-sur-Mer offer unique viewpoints that will allow you to discover a part of the vast region that is Normandy. You won't discover everything in one race, but it will give you a good taste ๐Ÿฅฐ.

Regarding distances, the main course ๐Ÿ’ก is a 14 km path. Halfway between a trail and a road race, you can find your happiness regardless of your runner profile ๐ŸŽฝ. Without overly technical passages, you'll be immersed in Norman nature and can let yourself drift with the wind ๐Ÿƒ. You'll have an incredible view of the entire coastline! ๐Ÿคฉ We warn you in advance: upon arriving at the British Memorial in Ver-sur-Mer, you may be completely absorbed by the view of the sea and the surrounding fields. Certainly, the setting makes you want to stop, but don't forget you have a goal: finish this race! If you turn sea-green with fear ๐Ÿ˜ฐ at the thought of embarking on a race longer than 10 km: don't stress, take a deep breath ๐Ÿ’จ. The organizers have thought of everyone ๐Ÿซ‚. You can opt for the 7 km, in either the walk or run version. Just like the classic Veroise, the course will guide you through the landscapes of the North for your greatest joy ๐Ÿฅน. And no matter the race, there's no need to bring walking sticks: no elevation on the horizon! ๐ŸŒ… You'll be able to operate at full throttle and stride without difficulty ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ. Need another good reason to sign up? Alright, we'll slip one in here: โ‚ฌ1 per race number sold is donated to coastal protection. Thus, you contribute to the preservation of this unique natural setting. Congratulations, champion! ๐Ÿ’ช

After the effort, comes comfort ๐Ÿ˜ด. In William of Normandy's land, you can rediscover a natural heritage and a cultural heritage ๐Ÿ“– that engage in an endless battle to determine which is more extensive ๐Ÿ’ฅ. The Cliffs of ร‰tretat, the D-Day beaches ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ, and the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel are perfect examples of this rivalry. If you prefer urban visits ๐Ÿ™๏ธ, the cities of Rouen, Le Havre, or Deauville will be perfect for you ๐Ÿงฑ. Between history and leisure activities, you'll have plenty to do. However, if partying is the determining factor ๐ŸŽ‰, you can venture to Caen. You might not know, but it's the 3rd best student city in France. And where there are students, there are partygoers ๐Ÿฅณ. Head to the Port or Rue ร‰cuyรจre to try the best Caen bars (and test local alcohol in moderation โš ๏ธ).

We'll be waiting for you in Ver-sur-Mer ๐ŸŒŠ, for a blissful time between sea & land.

4 reasons to join this race

A responsible race โ™ป๏ธ
The association commits to donating โ‚ฌ1 for each race number sold towards coastal protection ๐Ÿ’ต. You can fully enjoy your race, knowing that you are contributing to the preservation of all the landscapes crossed ๐Ÿƒ. We agree that it's money better spent than on a mug of cider, right? ๐ŸŽ
Accessible routes ๐Ÿ“Š
Whether for those in a hurry, the young ๐Ÿ‘ฆ, the old ๐Ÿ‘ด, or those who want to take their time, routes have been designed for everyone โœ…. The goal is above all to discover the local environment, and each course passes by the highlights of the two villages crossed โœ…. You can go at your own pace and regardless of your level ๐Ÿ’ช: we're sure you'll leave satisfied from this experience ๐Ÿ˜„.
A temperate climate โ›…๏ธ
The coldness of the north ๐ŸงŠ is a bit of a clichรฉ, but not entirely. The advantage is that by running, it regulates your body heat ๐ŸŒก๏ธ and allows you to operate at full capacity without getting too hot ๐Ÿฅต. Leave your coolant bottle at home, the local temperature takes care of the rest ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ. At the beginning of spring ๐Ÿ’, you'll find all the ideal weather conditions gathered in one place.
A region full of activities ๐Ÿคนโ€โ™‚๏ธ
History ๐Ÿ›๏ธ, culture, or nature ๐ŸŒณ, the area is full of tourist spots. In just a few kilometers, Normandy will charm you ๐Ÿซ . You can extend the pleasure in the surroundings, especially with extra-sport activities. Between artisanal markets ๐Ÿบ, festivals, and local medieval feasts ๐Ÿฐ, you'll wander through the region without ever getting bored. You might even want to settle there? ๐Ÿก

Message from the organizer:

"The places you'll pass through and the people you'll meet will introduce you to the friendliness of Ver-sur-Mer and its many magical nooks."

A few more words

In 14 km, we can assure you that you'll see some scenery ๐Ÿ‘€. The first few kilometers will be along the coast. Prepare a cap ๐Ÿงข or a hat, because the wind on this side is strong and might mess up your hairstyle ๐Ÿชฎ. Once you've reached km 5, you'll make a U-turn ๐Ÿ”„ and head inland to tackle the rest of the race. Large fields ๐ŸŒพ will flank your run, on both left and right. After passing through the small village of Meuvaines, you'll see in the distance the village of Ver-sur-Mer ๐ŸŒŠ, and you'll have only 3 km left to cover in record time before crossing the finish line ๐Ÿ: exhausted but happy ๐Ÿ˜€. Once the effort is done, wait a few days and you'll be ready to set off on a new race as if nothing ever happened ๐Ÿ˜Ž.
