The big cities have the power to amaze everyone, ๐คฉ especially runners: what a pleasure it is to run on large boulevards, amidst historic monuments ๐๏ธ that define the city and sometimes even the country! But there are also many downsides: itโs crowded, the air is sometimes polluted, and itโs not always very refreshing ๐ . This is why some prefer nature races ๐ in the heart of the countryside. So for the August holidays, head to the shade of the forest ๐ฒ to take part in the Course du Mandement!
The Mandement is the region where the race takes place ๐ค. It is located in the Canton of Geneva and includes 3 municipalities: Satigny, Dardagny and Russin. It's a rural area, perfect for a refreshing race far from everyday worries ๐. There are trails for all tastes and ages: the more daring will tackle the 42 km of the "Marathon du Mandement", while those who want to enjoy the scenery will choose the "Walking Trail" or "Walking", both walks of the event ๐ถ. The "Gamaret" and "Viognier" will suit those who want to run and discover the region without stress, on 10 km or 21 km! Be cautious of the elevation ๐ฌ. Even children can participate in the tracks of "Mandement ร l'ร", "Grenadine", "Fraise" or "Abricot". It's definitely an event for the whole family! ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ฆ
The region offers beautiful landscapes ๐ผ๏ธ, but they must be preserved, otherwise our children won't be able to enjoy them ๐. That's why the Course du Mandement is committed to sustainable development โป๏ธ, through 3 actions: the elimination of plastic cups (don't forget your water bottle! ๐), the use of 100% recycled paper for flyers, and the establishment of a recycling brigade (be careful not to mix up bins, or you'll get a fine!). A great initiative that aligns with the values of the race ๐.

The start of the "Marathon of Mandement" will be at 8 am. The route forms a large loop in the Mandement region, through the communes of the Geneva countryside ๐. Starting from Satigny, you will pass through Peney, the Grand Bois ๐ฒ and then follow the Rhรดne ๐ฆ from Russin to La Plaine. You will then head to Dardagny, where you'll start a steep climb ๐ to follow a part of the border between Switzerland and France and return to the Grand Bois. You will finish your loop in full nature to cross the finish line in Satigny! ๐

Throughout the trail, you will pass through the paths around the commune of Satigny and run along the Rhรดne River for 5 km. It is the second longest race of the day. After taking a big breath of fresh air ๐ณ, you will cross the finish line in front of the town hall of Satigny ๐.

The "Viognier" is THE flagship race of this Saturday! ๐คฉ The start will be at 10 AM at Satigny. You will run for 21 km on hilly trails. The trail will be festive, gourmet, and the course will not lack entertainment ๐. As the race will take place in the great outdoors ๐, you will encounter dirt, stones, streams, climbs but also descents... ๐ฅต You will discover one of the most beautiful trails in the Geneva region ! The course will form a loop, and your finish will be at the same place as your start ๐.

You can pick up your race bib on Saturday, August 22, 2026, starting at 7 a.m. in front of Satigny Town Hall. No bibs will be sent by mail. Each participant must collect their bib in person.

There is no mandatory equipment, but each participant should have enough resources to complete their race. Walking sticks are not allowed.
You will find changing rooms and showers within the school grounds, close to the finish area.
