Welcome to the capital of Lombardy ! ๐ฎ๐น
The Milan Marathon is gearing up to entertain you in 2026! ๐คฉ Its international reputation in the running world is well-known: the Wizz Air Milano Marathon is not an ordinary race, but rather an unforgettable memory in the minds of each of its participants! ๐ It is unique in its kind and especially the fastest marathon in the country, with a start and finish in the center of the second largest city in Italy! If youโre not keen on doing 42 km solo, no worries, you can still participate in the marathon in a 4-person relay! ๐ฃ As a team, and stronger than ever, each runner will have to complete between 6.5 km and 13 km ๐ฃ. Youโll pass by many famous monuments, from Arco Della Pace ๐๏ธ, to Castello Sforzesco ๐ฐ, then the Duomo, of course, but also the parc di Trenno ๐ณ, the San Siro racetrack ๐ or the G.Meazza stadium! ๐๏ธ Some people are lucky! ๐
The positive point that makes a difference when running the Milano Marathon is the atmosphere! ๐ฅณ Every street corner is a real fiesta party, almost better than some well-watered evenings! ๐คช Anyway, you wonโt lack encouragement. Italians will know how to use their strong voices to cheer you on! ๐ฃ๏ธ The course passes through the cityโs highlights, where many supporters will be there to celebrate you! ๐บ Moreover, it won't just be the supporters celebrating! Did you know that a dog race is also organized? ๐ถ What better than being accompanied by your faithful companion to push your limits together? The 1.5 km race will take place on Saturday for our four-legged friends ๐ฉ. On Saturday, there will also be the "Family Run". So, you can bring your little family along to set the chronometer in crew! ๐จโ๐งโ๐ง
Well, running is great, but you might be wondering what Milan can offer you? Well, plenty of things, don't get it wrong! And I promise, itโs not just fashion that is iconic in Milan ๐. To prove otherwise, Finishers offers you unusual places to make your stay even more exciting! On your first day in Milan, you cannot miss the streets of the city center. The Duomo, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, the Palazzo Reale, the Museo del Novecento, the Teatro della Scala and the Brera Art Gallery. Delight in the wonderful scents of the Brera Botanical Garden, founded by Empress Maria Theresa of Austria (Marie-Antoinetteโs mother) ๐. More than 300 plant species await you ๐ฟ. Otherwise, have you heard of igloo houses? โ๏ธ No, not the ones from the Inuits, but those in Italy! ๐ต They are small round houses, built after the Second World War. They are part of Milanโs architectural wealth, of course! To contemplate it, we recommend climbing onto the roof of the Milan Cathedral (you should know where it is, the start of your race is on the square next to it ๐). Bonus for fans of the Paris Catacombs (because yes, they are much more popular than you might think): the San Bernardino ossuary ! ๐ฆด Also called the kingdom of the dead, itโs a somewhat peculiar chapel because it is covered with bones. And yes, thatโs part of the culture too! ๐ In any case, in Milan, you wonโt be twiddling your thumbsโฆ ๐
Well then? Are we meeting at the Milan Marathon? ๐ช Grab your bib number and start exploring the city, on foot or running! โบ๏ธ
So, you're embarking on a fantastic marathon? ๐ You're absolutely right! In any case, the course is truly amazing ๐คฉ.
On the 2026 course, you'll start from the Piazza Duomo, and then head towards the Porta Venezia. A few km further, there will be the Arena Civica, the Arco della Pace, and the Castello Sforzesco! You'll then pass through the City Life district, where you can enjoy your third refreshment๐ฅค. Then, you'll head towards the Monte Stella, for some greenery! At km 20, it's the San Siro Racecourse ๐ that will stand before you, only to make way for the G.Meazza Stadium (it goes for the soccer enthusiasts โฝ).
You'll have completed half of this flat and smooth course! Then, you can enjoy the so-called Trenno Park to get a breath of fresh air! ๐ท You'll slowly begin to make your return to your starting point, and on your way, there will be the Del Portello Park. A few km later, you'll have your 9th refreshment. You'll pass again in front of the Arena Civica, but with music! ๐ธ Indeed, it will be a highlight for the party! You'll have 3 short km left where you can see, among other things, the Alla Scala Theater ๐น, before finally crossing that fantastic finish line on the Piazza Duomo, just in front of the Milan Cathedral! ๐ฅณ
The course is the same as that of the solo marathon runners. We let you take a look above ๐.

Yes, to participate in the marathon, you must be at least 20 years old on race day (born on or before April 6, 2006).
As a foreign runner, you can participate in the non-competitive category. In this case, you do not need to provide a medical certificate or a Runcard. You will simply need to provide a liability waiver in your registration form.
Note that 99% of foreign runners choose this category. You will have an official time and start in the same corrals as the competitive runners.
If you prefer, you can opt for the competitive category. This category is mainly intended for Italian runners, elite athletes, and those aiming for the podium. You will have an official time and be ranked among Italian runners, athletes, and other competitive participants. For this, you will need to provide a medical certificate and an FFA license or a Runcard. The Runcard, an Italian license costing 15 euros, allows runners not affiliated with an athletic federation to compete in the competitive category. It can be purchased on the website www.runcard.com.
Yes, the marathon is limited to 6 hours and 30 minutes. There are two time barriers:
km 21.1: 3 hours 15 minutes into the race
Km 28: 4 hours 20 minutes into the race
With the bib number, each athlete will receive a tag (bearing the race number) to place on the bib, as well as a bag provided by the organization in which you can store your personal clothes. The bag, transparent and properly numbered, will be the only container accepted by the organization. It should be delivered to the staff at the bag drop-off in the designated area at Piazza Castello/Viale Gadio, where it will be stored and where it can be retrieved by the athlete at the end of the race. It is advised not to depart with personal belongings (mobile phone, wallet, etc.) inside the bags. While the organization will do its best to safeguard the bags, it will not be responsible for any theft.
If you finish the Milan Marathon, a medal and a shirt will be offered to you at the end of the race.
