The tramontane knows the score by heart in the Roussillon, and in early November, it performs in duo with hundreds of trekking poles clacking on the trails 🌬️ .
Head to Sorède, a Catalan village nestled at the foot of the Albères massif, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, in Occitanie 🏔️. Roussillon autumn keeps its gentle shapes on the plain, with still-mild temperatures at this time of year, but the mercury drops sharply once past 1,000 m in altitude; a fleece definitely deserves a spot in your pack ❄️. The wind, true to its local reputation, often decides the day’s program all by itself 💨.
On the "Open" route, 17 km and 1,200 mD+ leave bodies little respite 🦵. The first rolling kilometers wind around the Mas del Ca before tipping sharply onto far more demanding switchback paths 🌀, heading for the Antenne du Néoulous, a strategic checkpoint perched at 1,112 m ⛰️. Your gaze stretches far between turns: the Côte Vermeille and the Mediterranean shimmer in the distance, a fine reward before the final drop to the finish 🌊. For the more talkative, it’s possible to do the “Fast Hiking Open” as a team. The Fast Hiking Discovery format offers 9.3 km and 643 mD+ for a more accessible introduction, without denying the route’s mountain character 🧭.

Organized by FFRandonnée, the event cultivates a spirit of total self-sufficiency: pack on your back, an IGN map in your pocket, zero refreshments along the way 🎒. Motivated beginners and seasoned hikers cross paths on the same start line, in a family-friendly atmosphere far from cutthroat competition 🤝. A mandatory briefing is scheduled 10 minutes before each start.
FFRandonnée license holders must present a valid license. Non-license holders must complete the federal health questionnaire and certify that they answered "no" to all questions. A medical certificate stating no contraindication to competitive sports, issued less than six months ago, may be required according to current regulations.
The sporting event is open to FFRandonnée license holders and non-license holders, adult men and women on the day of the event (18 and over), and from age 15 with parental authorization.

Yes. For the Open event:
Point 1 (3.3 km): cut-off at 3 hours of racing. Beyond this, participants are redirected to the Discovery course.
Point 2, Antenne du Néoulous (5.5 km): cut-off at 5 hours 30 minutes of racing. Beyond this, participants are withdrawn from the race.
Refreshments are offered only at the start and finish. The entire route is completed in full self-sufficiency, with no intermediate aid stations and no course marking.
The following equipment is recommended for all participants:
water and snacks suited to the difficulty of the event
a working mobile phone
space blanket and whistle
a copy of the IGN map provided by the organizers, or a GPX track via the MaRando app
a navigation tool (compass, GPS, smartphone)
a first-aid kit with elastic adhesive bandage
a headlamp
protective clothing suited to the weather

FFRandonnée insurance coverage (civil liability and individual accident)
